Logan or Spider-Man 2 for me. Honestly I’d put The Batman over the Nolan trilogy too
yeah for sure it’s genuinely just perfect in practically every regard. i thought reeves batman was maybe close than i rewatch ed the dark knight and it jus made me realize how amazing the dark knight is and medicore/bad the writing was for the batman.
nolan really made something special with the dark knight and the cast was spectacular
It’s not tho, what’s your reasoning for saying it is beyond it being more “lowbrow” as a comic booky adventure MCU film?
How isn’t it up there with the best of em when all this applies?
i agree wit most except payoff and setup,
the payoff with thor going through his development was horrible, and the setup for endgame was good but the execution was terrible.
everything else i’ll actually agree on, i think if endgame didn’t exist id acc put infinity war top 3 for superhero movies i’ve ever seen
A film being serious or unserious shouldn't matter the quality should be the mark of it and if you go in using tone to dictate story instead of story dictating tone then your film is prolly gonna fail.
This obsession with either making everything MCU or super dark and serious Nolan is why these films aren't good right now.
Stop boxing storytelling

the dark knight trilogy is the foundation for what most superhero movies should be. at least for DC. Marvel is too unserious.
At bare minimum because Dark Knight doesn't even capture the surrealism of comic books or the source material outside of the fear toxin
The dark knight trilogy should not be the foundation for most DC movies. That thinking is the root of the mess that DC has been in for the last ten years now. Not every character has to be darker and realistic
Precisely
Yes but it and iron man collectively had the worst impact on superhero films for their respective companies even tho they’re classics
howso
That’s been DC’s problem. It turns cringey when you try to put that tone in anywhere but Gotham
They never figured out how to be realistic without being dark lol. The two aren’t mutually exclusive.
Spittin
sure but as year passes i prefer batman begins over the dark knight.
Also spittin
The dark knight is the goat superhero film FOR NOW
THE BATMAN TICKETS ON SALE FEBRUARY 10th
The dark knight still the best by the way

But stay with me I got an idea we have never tried before what if Superman was evil

this but unironically
Spider Man 1 & 2
Batman Begins & The Dark Knight
Guardians of the Galaxy
Avengers: Infinity War
Deadpool 1 & 2
The Batman
Those are the really enjoyable ones, then just below that there's s*** like Blade, which was hard af too

Logan never totally hit for me. I mean, the action was cool, the Western vibe, the stuff with Professor X.
I just feel like the relationship with the kid needed work, I didn’t really care about that bond. And then it loses me when they get to the farm. And then it loses me again when they get to the Forrest with all the children.

For me too. Was really hyped since critics and fans seemed to love it, but it just didn't hit. It was cool imo, but nothing more

Rises was cool too, although it eventually fell a bit flat imo. Great trilogy tho. Best one in cbm history, although the comic heads wont like it that much cause of the realism
