People like evil superman because humanity loves to indulge their dark cynical natures
don't see Snyder's Superman as evil but I do hate that he was going that route. It's so lame and I'm glad Justice League 2 never happened. Superman coming back to life and finding his humanity is the perfect ending to his trilogy. Seems like all his ideas for the sequel was leaning into cynicism and edginess.
a Man of Steel sequel should've kept the tone of Justice League.
Still one of the most clever and thematically potent opening image/closing image pairs ever in a blockbuster
Bruce’s central conflict is his belief that he has no limits due to being solidified as a symbol in being Batman. The flaming bat - the literal symbol of Batman - is engulfed in flames and darkness, coming at us as the darkness consumes the entire frame. Once Bruce has to learn the lesson the hard way that he does in fact have limits, and makes the ultimate heroic sacrifice, he rides off into the light. Though he is no longer a symbol, he is a fully realized hero; just a man who has embraced his limits
Even the color palette is a clever juxtaposition
It is groundbreaking in many ways. Action scenes are a bit lacking.
Isn’t it one of Nolan main criticism that he doesn’t know how to make good fighting scenes?
I still think Batman Begins had very good action scenes
Spider-Man 1/2/3 are all carried by nostalgia btw
nope
nope
Yes. They’re not touching dark knight rises or most of the other movies mentioned
They scream 2000s and all of them have moments that make them less than perfect
I still like them all I think
When big p**** shows up on the train scene in Spider-Man 2 I almost cry laughing every time
Everything about this movie has been said already, but upon rewatching the UHD disc on an OLED TV, I must say those IMAX scenes are still damn near reference quality after all those years. Let’s hope one day they’re figuring out how to shoot an entire movie with those cameras.
