Non film buffs are like that for the most part, but not with marvel movies, they a***yze that s*** tooth and comb
That's cause Marvel has overarching plot lines which is rare for big franchises. The hype for the new Batman film and its spin offs shows that hunger for that stuff in general.
The CW showed that reality too before it lost public support
As soon as I walked out of Dark Knight I was pretty balanced
Ledger as joker I always thought carried, boat scene potent, Two Face dying that way was funny and the transformation was a lil rapid because of the time they had/ he should understand the logic. Fight scenes not why you are there
movie flows well, but Joker plot so unresolved that even if Ledger lived you needed him for next film
Yeah it’s pretty evident that Joker not being able to return in TDKR or whatever shook things up with that plot too.
The movie is still great to me, but there’s just so many nutty Nolan bs in there that’s feels outta place in what is still a Batman movie.
I also prefer the feel of Gotham in BB, always wondered why he completely dropped that.
Dark knight rises was laughable trash, it kills me we ll never know what the true followup was before Ledger died and Nolan said f*** it
Yes. Logan and Infinity War are Marvel’s best attempts in topping TDK.
marvel had no part in logan
dark knight is a great film but i dont even really see it as a superhero film in the same way as marvel, dc, sony, and fox universes
SPIDERVERSE IS NOT IN THE GOAT DISCUSSION
Why shouldn't it be?
Groundbreaking animation and amazing visual storytelling. Takes a cliché story and uses creativity and out of the box thinking to deliver us one of the most unique and distinct animated and superhero movies in decades.

that cliche story is why I cant have it in the goat discussion
The writing, directing, and the characters (some exceptions) are leagues beyond in this trilogy than everything else.
I’d say dark knight > any MCU film.
Rises better than 85% of them
Batman begins > like 70% of MCU
Rises? Are you on CRACK

Yeah kinda

If we’re going to open the doors to animation than Mask of the Phantasm is beating out spider verse. Maybe even a few other DC movies

It's was the movie does with its cliche that matters. Is Rocky not a classic because it follows the "underdog cliche"?

I never rewatch rocky so I honestly cant say

LETS GOOOOO SOMEONE IS AWAKE
If you do all animated superhero movies spiderverse MAYBE top 5
IF YOU DO ALL ANIMATED MOVIES OVERALL
ITS NOT EVEN TOP 10
Ledger - or rather the narrative that Ledger is the only “greatest of all time” thing about The Dark Knight - has overshadowed how great the writing is
In terms of story and dialogue…masterful stuff. It’s a beautiful film too. Nolan and Pfister snapped

Never seen that, but Into The Spiderverse recently did the same and influenced The Mitchells vs. the Machines. And that is outside of the comicbook genre.

I’m a big fan of Into the Spiderverse. I’m just saying there’s a lot of great animated movies that start entering the discussion once you open that door

Word. I agree...I was kinda sticking to the superhero genre though.
