I haven’t bought a physical game in almost a decade but I’d still go with the physical PS5

Lol it’s funny how much the tides have shifted. During preorder everyone would have said the digital was better

There would be a lot more people with digital if it wasn’t harder to get.

Not speaking for myself cause I did have both editions pre-ordered at one point.

Never going full digital until I have no other option

  • Nov 15, 2020

I cop all of my games digital because of no sales tax where I live + PSN has weekly sales that are usually pretty high quality

but I also wanted a 4k blu ray player so I figured the extra $100 was more than worth it. haven't really read about any problems it has with discs other than not supporting Dolby Vision/ATMOS which isn't a big deal to me anyways

    Digital is for LOSERS

I never used my PS4 drive

In all seriousness, digital edition version is a waste. What’s the reason? To save $100?

Buy some used games then. if you’re a serious gamer and wait for Black Friday sales, you’ll get first parties for $30-$40

You buy 3 1st party games for $30 (and even lower a year or 2 later) when they eventually get price cuts, BOOM. There’s that $100 you wanted to save

I know neither is in stock anywhere anyway but I’m still considering which one to get, I know that physicals get really cheap compared to ps store (Darksiders 3 on ps4 is literally $60 on there while it’s $5 on eBay for example) but the sales on psn are good and so is ps plus and ps now. All my ps4 games are digital as well.

The black box for the digital looks solid too I wanna actually keep it and show it to my great great grandkids 😂

I just don’t want to spend waku bucks only for the convenience of digital considering there may not be sales but if there is I’ll feel like I wasted $100, the drive is useless to me I’ll rather stream 4K movies and tv as well.

I don’t understand why anyone would think the digital is “batter”

  • Nov 15, 2020

Looks better & $100 less, if you got fast internet with no data caps & don't mind paying full price for games it's definitely for you

you really like having to change discs? if you travel with the console like I do a couple times a year you got the worry you'll leave the discs some where and have to rebuy games

also no taxes on digital games where I live and the sales for 1st party games is usually like $10 after a few years during their Summer Sale & the After Christmas sale,

in the first few months though Stores usually have better price on physical but you can use Game Sharing and split the cost of these games with a friend on the other side of the Globe

I was honestly thinking of getting the Disc model just as a Blu Ray player tho

Digital was just to bait the people trynna save extra money lmao the 100$ disc version will pay for itself and over through the years

  • Nov 15, 2020

The physical sounds like it is useless to you. I prefer the physical, personally.

  • Nov 15, 2020

there has been lots of digital sales that would be worth it if you're patient. Issues come into how many games you need to delete and replace.

or then paying for more storage anyways.
    redownoading and such.

I just don't like the idea of giving them Sony everything with nothing in return. At least with physicals I have that little bit of control over my purchases.

Guess that's just me being dusty. but I'll still keep buying physicals. especially in Canada.

That's how I see it, with the physical you can buy games on retail discounts/used and then just sell them if you don't want them anymore. With digital though you rely on the PlayStation store which has sales less often and you can't return the games when you're done with them

If you only buy digital games and you don't want to buy 4K movies/TV shows, go digital

do they not sell 4K movie and shows on the playstation store?

surprised that there are so many anti digital people in here, I rarely buy anything physical
