I just take Blinding Lights as an example for my point
I'm really waiting for an artist to come up that's been inspired by Abel, like Travis Scott got inspired by Cudi or Ye, when that happens I will consider him a legend
btw help me when I try to post a thread it says please wait a few seconds, but it's been like this a couple days

On a performance level yes he’s nowhere near those two.

Musically he blows them both out of the water

You think he's made better albums than Chris Brown/usher Bruno in their prime?
Bruno who wrote pop hits for others and himself? + comeback with 24 karat magic album?
    Usher confessions?
    Chris Brown self titled?

I think it's too early to say fr

I don't think he was better than Michael was but the only Michael era this whole site was even alive for was the one where he was making himself look like an alien, being accused of child molestation, and not making any classic music anyone still knows today. Not sure why everyone here acts like an authority on him and says no one can ever be better when none of us were even around in his prime.

i kinda hate the obsession with vague terms like "classic" and "legend"

if any artist is super popular like that they are basically going down as a "legend" to many people. same as an album considered a classic

  • Feb 8, 2021

Very few legends these days of comparable quality to our past artists so nah but he’s got time to prove himself

I think Weeknd has multiple projects better than Bruno’s best

I like trilogy more than confessions but prolly not

I’m definitely taking trilogy over CB self titled though especially given how influential it’s been

No one sounds like Abel because they don’t have the vocal cords for it. They take the instrumentals but they gotta whisper over them.

nigga that album came out a little less than 2 years ago, tf???

also abel's influence on music is very prominent, we are just far too close to the source of exposure to full fathom it in the long term... does an artist need to admit their influence for you to understand it or can you read between the lines
