Wasn’t Em and Rihanna doing stadiums?
I don’t think Weeknd pulling it off with this one tho
I feel like it should be higher for an artist as big as Abel
idrc though I love the album so I’m happy
275k of the 444k after hours sold first week was physicals.
who CAN sell out stadiums tho
a one time drake and kanye event
needed two of the biggest rappers in the world
Ed Sheeran did mostly Arenas though, not stadiums. The difference is 12k people vs 50k+
good point about Beyonce, although her tour with Jay Z did struggle a bit and they had to sell a lot of tickets for $10 in a few cities
She already did 2 years before by herself ..otr II stalled because they already did the joint tour theme in 2014 on a smaller scale.
Taylor and Sheeran are both exponentially bigger than The Weeknd worldwide/domestically though, so it's a no brainer they can fill those venues out

Beyoncé is the only black act that has that type of demand for a full stadium tour.
In general.. Taylor, Adele, Madonna

in 2022 madonna is not selling out any stage more than the weeknd
I think if The Weeknd can get an arena/amphitheater-level support act or two (let's say for instance Tame Impala and Doja Cat or something) on the bill along with marketing it well with decently priced tickets, he might be able to mostly pull off this upcoming stadium tour
Can the most recent superbowl halftime show with the biggest song of 2020 sell out arenas
Take your ritalin op

facts he's gonna need better support acts than Sabrina Claudio and don toliver
Stadiums crazy to sell out. Only a few acts can solo. Idk if The Weeknd can but I’m not going to say he definitely can’t.

Damn they got my dawg outta here last decade huh..
Well that settles it. Taylor, Adele and maybe Ed who benefits from White privilege and monstrous global commercial catalogs
The only reason Bey is on their tier is because she’s built the reputation of being arguable the greatest live stage performer of the 21st century and ppl attend in droves (even if they dnt like her music) because the b**** is magic on stage
Drake migh get there in a few years once his demo gets into their disposal income bag.
by themselves basically nobody can besides 25 era adele. That means not even taylor
with a proper co-headliner he sure could. I would say travis but he's out of the picture rn
Rolling Stones, unless we're talking this era of artists. Although is relevant since they did a sold out stadium tour last year
But him selling low makes me hopeful he goes back to making non pop music
Thankfully for us Dawn FM fans, he said he didn’t care about sales.

there's been about 30 superbowl halftime performers and I'm pretty sure less than 5 of those have ever done a stadium tour...
yep and even Ed did 50% arenas 50% stadiums. 0 Stadiums in the US. Weeknd definitely bigger than Ed in the US but Ed destroys him globally for sure
He does. Drake sold out the O2 for like 7 nights back 2 back.
He already said he prefers the soundscape of arenas.
He did MSG for what? 5 nights?
Those aren’t stadiums.
Doesn’t matter how many nights in a row he sells them out, doesn’t mean he can fill up a stadium
He sold out a stadium last year for the super bowl
I don't get why so many people keep thinking doing the superbowl is some massive insane deal and means an artist is superstar out of this world level
Shakira & JLo headlined the year before weeknd, yall think they'd sell out stadiums? lol
Maroon 5 the year before that, they'd barely sell out arenas these days, let alone stadiums
Justin Timberlake 2018? maybe he could have done stadiums 15 years ago
