16 year old is old enough to realize her pettiness and entitlement is silly given the circumstance. sure? her already seemingly super generous parents should have asked her what car she wanted? but they didn’t and still did something super nice for her so she shouldn’t be b****ing.

look at me tho calling a 16 year old petty on some rage bait i have now engaged in. smh! they got me

i definitely wouldn’t have expressed that to my parents either, not at 16, and you say she should know better but idk, she’s still a child. i think it’s possible that she said that out of pure entitlement sure, but even if so she’s still incidentally correct. both sides are wrong but the parents always take more blame because they should know better, period.

lecturing your kids and talking down to them simply doesn’t work and is part of why we have so many a******s walking around today

Girl 100% was hoping for a cts less than 5 years old

this has nothing to do with what i posted at all

turning down a car is the opposite of knowing your worth lol

if she knew her worth she'd be grateful to have a starter while being confident she could get a better car later on her own

You say this then the approved budget is $2K and that’s what she got

okay then the budget is $2000, you level with your kid and say “we wanna get you a car but this is all we can afford. do you have anything in mind at that budget” like it ain’t that hard. it’s just part of this culture in america of not communicating with your damn kids. small children are waaaaay smarter than folks think, let alone full blown teenagers. if they actually sat down and spoke with their daughter before like normal human beings we wouldn’t have any rage bait to talk about here

Exactly, a Buick is phenomenal for low end budgets on first cars

even before the X engagement payouts. we are constantly made aware of little annoying ass situations like this that most 90% of americans will NEVER really face, and for what? just so i can get angry about something or irritated? it’s weird idk i don’t like it. social media is really ass.

ohhhh but hoops it’s your algorithm, nahhhh this is beyond algorithm lol this is some generic s*** everyone will see ohhhhh but don’t get mad, f*** outta here lol ill be mad at stupid s*** literally
posted for the sake of making people mad

it is interesting to think like before social media you would only know about small stuff in your area and what’s on the news like you would only hear about a story like this a handful of times in your entire life at most and have a couple people to talk about it with now it’s stories like this all time snd endless reply guys to discuss with

i see what you’re saying but those buicks are like on paper the best cars you can get in their price range they may just not look cool like a similarly old bmw with a ton of miles and headaches

Ungrateful but totally understand why/how she feels that way. Always be grateful cause your parents really don't have to get you s***, mine sure as hell didn't lmao

I will say though, she top of her class graduating HS a year early? I'd at least get her a nice late 2000s-early 2010s Honda or Toyota as her first car. Something that's still affordable, looks nice, and likely easier to maintain than an extra old ass Buick lol

If it’s got the 3800 V6, it will be the most reliable vehicle on the road. Nuclear fallout will happen, and mutated cockroaches will be whipping around in it

I didn't get "she knows her worth" out of that exchange at all. She just thinks the car is ugly and is ungrateful for the one she received, it's not that deep lol

"That's not my style I'm a growing girl I go to 11th grade next year" sounds so fake btw

for $2K all you really getting is beater. That car looks great and gets her form point A to B quicker than before and without having to call her parents.

She’s embarrassed because her parents have nice things that they worked hard for and since she’s accomplished great things, she’s thinks she’s automatically qualified to receive nice things as well. This is a nice reality check and I support the parents showing her a lesson about life, where you can do everything right and still not get what you want…but that shouldn’t stop you from humbling yourself, continuing to work hard, and satisfying yourself with your desires as opposed to expectations of others.

Appreciate what you got while you have it, work hard for something better, sell the one that got you there, and get your own nice car. She sounds entitled, and you went into a whole other diatribe about your assumptions on society as a whole to affirm your stance on this topic

The kid is right. When I turned 16 my parents bought me a Tesla. Actually, they bought me two of them, one white and one black in case I wanted to match the car's colour with one of my outfits. For Christmas that same year they got me a Ferrari, but that was the worst Christmas ever because they bought me a Blue Ferrari instead of a Red one, and I got no outfits that go with a Blue Ferrari. Pisses me off. I hate my parents.

Sell the car and then tell that bum b**** to get a job and buy herself a car.
