Man my first car was a hand me down from my parents that was sitting in the driveway. Belts squealed when it started up and the a/c was broke, but I was happy af to just be able to drive and do s*** on my own without having to walk everywhere.
They should just give the car to someone else in the family that needs it and let her ride the bus. If you’re too good for a free whip then that’s on you 🤷🏽♂️
I can't freaking believe that kid acted that way about a free car!
I would NEVER have acted that way. Kids these days....
I am very annoyed, do you happen to have anything else for me to be annoyed over?
for $2K all you really getting is beater. That car looks great and gets her form point A to B quicker than before and without having to call her parents.
She’s embarrassed because her parents have nice things that they worked hard for and since she’s accomplished great things, she’s thinks she’s automatically qualified to receive nice things as well. This is a nice reality check and I support the parents showing her a lesson about life, where you can do everything right and still not get what you want…but that shouldn’t stop you from humbling yourself, continuing to work hard, and satisfying yourself with your desires as opposed to expectations of others.
Appreciate what you got while you have it, work hard for something better, sell the one that got you there, and get your own nice car. She sounds entitled, and you went into a whole other diatribe about your assumptions on society as a whole to affirm your stance on this topic
I dont think you know much about cars or the market, especially if you can't connect my replies to your "point" still
i do, you're just failing to see (still) that this topic ain't really about cars (i've said this a dozen times now holy s***)
i see what you’re saying but those buicks are like on paper the best cars you can get in their price range they may just not look cool like a similarly old bmw with a ton of miles and headaches
goddamn at least you see what i'm saying unlike these other mouthbreathers quoting me. i ain't even disagreeing that the girl acting entitled im simply saying adults should be adults and mf communicate and parents should be parents by teaching their kids to communicate, which if they did, they would've avoided this situation altogether, regardless of the car or budget. that's literally it
Saw this making the rounds on Twitter. A lot of people are saying the daughter wasn’t wrong to complain about the car, and that the parents should have talked to her about what she wanted or liked before they bought the car.
The texts:
The car:
Personally I never would have talked to my parents like this, and they would’ve told me to save my money and buy my own car if I reacted like this to a gift they got me.
What do yall think? Is the girl wrong for wanting more or does she know her worth?
tell her ass she should be grateful if that was my daughter id make her ass walk everywhere
ungrateful af and talking crazy to her parents but, she isss 16 and in highschool and if you take everything into consideration as far as social media, being in highschool with kids who WILL make fun her car, teenage angst, society & material obsession in general, like just everything idk I kiiiinda understand
doesn’t excuse the behavior and i would probably make her keep riding the mf bus, ijs i wouldn’t be too hard on her at that age ig
I didn't get "she knows her worth" out of that exchange at all. She just thinks the car is ugly and is ungrateful for the one she received, it's not that deep lol
"That's not my style I'm a growing girl I go to 11th grade next year" sounds so fake btw
That stood out to me as well. That and her contact being saved as "My oldest Baby♥️" by her mother
even before the X engagement payouts. we are constantly made aware of little annoying ass situations like this that most 90% of americans will NEVER really face, and for what? just so i can get angry about something or irritated? it’s weird idk i don’t like it. social media is really ass.

Agree 100% it's super annoying, I'll just quit social media at this point lol
My first car was a POS and I have driven beaters or used sedans ever since
Saved thousands, my dad taught me a good lesson with that one car.
Anyone who thinks this 16 year old is right and knows her worth please quote this with no reply so I can see which of you have completely lost grip of true reality
