Silk Sonic brought all that back to the mainstream with an OG at the helms but no one wanted it
Bruno and D’Mile also made this song. I believe this might be a Silk Sonic throwaway, at least the composition
@SPACEGHOSTPURRP is a known troll tbh
I’m not trolling, Usher isn’t nowhere near on the same level as Chris Brown.
Usher is candy corn
Omarion Ciara above him to
Is Brent unable to be a superstar?
i hope he becomes one, really love his music
R&b in a better place than its ever been fight me
Late 90s / Early 2000s can never be matched
Chris Brown even though Rihanna made that b**** famous
CB was bigger than Rihanna until Umbrella
Late 90s / Early 2000s can never be matched
Peak fr neo new jack swing sounds, contemporary R&B and then guys like Timbo sounding like they’re from the future with their prod
Like the nigga was 34th in the world on YouTube. Look at some of the artists he's ahead of https://kworb.net/youtube/archive.html
Also he's 46th in the world in Spotify. And I'm shocked to see for that Usher is 61st and MICHAEL JACKSON is 81st
Chris Brown definitely reached global R&B superstar level. I don't know how people can deny it. Just because he's a s***ty person doesn't mean he wasn't a superstar lol
Man even if you put this. This doesn't mean s*** to me, because he could've been bigger and way better artist. This is just a result of him staying upon the trends and having a strong fanbase.
Usher had his era, but by the time he came back in 08 with Here I Stand after 4 years. It was clear that the R&B game moved on without him.
And during this time, Chris really needed a mentor and producer that would've cultivate his vision. And he didn't get one.
That's why people don't look at Chris the same way they look at Usher.
I say this many times....
MJ had Quincy and Teddy
JT had Neptunes and Timbo
Usher had JD and Bryan
Who did Chris have????
Tyga??? Kevin McCall????
Nigga please
It's hilarious because Prince wanted to mentor, but he chose to not take his mentorship.

But Usher did find a place in this Neyo-TreySongz- electronic RnB era of ca 2010. OMG and Love in this Club were big.

I look at them as CB knows who he is and he just makes music based on that. And that works for him.
The difference between the two is CB never had to face the pressure of following up to an album like Confessions --- which is kinda what we are seeing with Frank Ocean post Blonde.
killing all these niggas
leon thomas and tone stith too
That Leon Thomas album had some good songs on it. I like Tone Stith too, I have to sit and listen to more of his stuff. I also like Jvck James...but he only has like 12 records out right now so too early to tell with him.
I agree Fridayy is Giveon's replacement. Such a cold world
Plus he has a better voice and he can sing live
I think Fridayy made music that works for his voice...Giveon's first project was really good but the second didn't really fit him

Leon album fire top to bottom
imma check out jvck james

They were big, but around the time, CB and Drake were pretty much the big focus.
I struggle to see how Chris Brown wouldn’t apply here. Sure it seems he’s a bad person, but objectively he had a superstar era
He’s goes in depth about it during this written interview
https://thequietus.com/articles/07450-frank-ocean-interview
I vaguely remember this interview and being vehemently against some of what he was saying at the time (mainly the “if a white person sung novacane they wouldnt call it an R&B song” which makes no sense to me. Yeah it has rap elements but all r&b since so far gone has rap elements lmao)
Usher isn’t as great as Chris Brown,
I’d say usher also isn’t as great as Omarion & Ciara
ban
He’s not a generational talent, he is a super industry plant
I believe on the mj dancing side
Chris Omarion & Ciara are above him
Then rnb wise Ginuwine & Trey songz especially was greater than him
trey better than usher
