Babyface and Rory from the former jbp dropped an amazing r&b album
i just gotta say the industry pushing maeta so hard. she f***in sucks. the white b**** drake was f***in too is basura
real 1 ktt2.com/rnb-rb-albums-2024-thread-32564134/2#key-36 tap rnb albums thread tap in g
I love Chris Brown (as a musician), but that man does not have a classic album, nothing even remotely close. And before you give me the grammy argument Macklemore won a grammy lol.
The comparisons between Usher and CB are dumb. They are both f***ing awesome talents, make good music and we need to stop comparing them. Same with the Weekend. Usher can't make the Weekends music, and the Weekend cant make Ushers music.
this
I think most people know Forever if anything at least from The Office
I could argue for other songs too but I’ll stick with that one
was literally played at the euro cup final 2022
This is what article states about Chris Brown and Weeknd btw:
None can match Usher for hits or for classics or for oomph. Bruno Mars and Justin Bieber are pop stars cosplaying R&B (though the former is a distinguished, if lesser, performer), and have no real claim. The ship has sailed for Chris Brown. The Weeknd is trying — definitely successful enough, and maybe even talented enough, but look no further than his own Super Bowl halftime show to really get a sense of the distance between him and Usher.
The Weeknd is definitely as popular as Usher's peak(if not more).
I would just classify him as a Pop star. Not R&B star
I agree Fridayy is Giveon's replacement. Such a cold world
Plus he has a better voice and he can sing live
this like dubois taking joyce's place it a cold world once u get lapped
Is Brent unable to be a superstar?
He can but since he’s independent, the industry isn’t gonna push him like that
What do they mean by the ship has sailed for CB? He's still putting out hits no?
I mean. He has a couple hits every few years. But I don't think he ever hit "Superstar" status again since the 'incedent'.
And even then idk if I'd call him a full on superstar yet. He was on his way there, but I think he was way too early in his career at that point. He didn't really have a Confessions era like Usher did.
y u post this he not rnb or is he?
Worst post I could think of
literally
That maybe true. However, remember when Brent was first coming out and people use to say that he came from that PND cloth It can be applied to how we see it now. If Brent was seen as a PND seed and then evolved into something completely different than 4Batz too. Although, he's deemed Brentcore, I'm starting to believe he's kinda more attuned to Jim Legacy and a bit of 454
never thought or heard brent was a pnd seed i defo thought tory n tiller were though. be interesting to see where he goes next if he forms his lane or fades like realestk/anders
na hasn't had a smash in years n his last 2 albums flopped he still doing well off big world tours though
Usher hasn’t had a hit in years either though. Chris was everywhere back in the day and he still has a strong fandom now. whether one likes him or not, he def counts as an rnb superstar
Ne-Yo erasure up in here
I'm a huuuuge Ne-Yo fan. But he definitely never came close to Superstar status. He had a great 3 album run though
I’m not trolling, Usher isn’t nowhere near on the same level as Chris Brown.
Usher is candy corn
Omarion Ciara above him to
Usher 1st half of his career alone is lapping Chris dawg
you may prefer Usher (i do too) but cmon now… CB has over a decade worth of rnb hits
maintaining that kind of longevity is not easy. i would put him in this category
F.A.M.E is regarded as a classic by a lot, or somewhat close to a classic. He won a Grammy for it in 2012. And nope, you don't need a classic album to be a superstar. That's not the only factor when deciding whether or not someone is a superstar. His sales speak for themselves. Not only in the US but worldwide. His popularity. Not to mention the countless artists who say they were influenced by him. The lack of ''classic'' albums is literally the only argument against it. Everything else speaks in his favor.
When I think "Superstar" I think somebody who is leading the industry; or leading their genre as a whole.
The full package of being a household name with not only their public image; but having hit songs, and albums, that are household know records; and having massive influence.
Chris Brown was definitely on his way pre 'incedent'. But even then I would say he was more of "Teen Sensation" with promise of growing into a full on superstar..
I wouldn't say he was a superstar in the same light as an Usher, Prince or MJ.
Post incident, CB has had plenty of hit songs, and singles. But I don't think he ever hit a level of "Chris Brown is leading the world of R&B"
Man even if you put this. This doesn't mean s*** to me, because he could've been bigger and way better artist. This is just a result of him staying upon the trends and having a strong fanbase.
Usher had his era, but by the time he came back in 08 with Here I Stand after 4 years. It was clear that the R&B game moved on without him.
And during this time, Chris really needed a mentor and producer that would've cultivate his vision. And he didn't get one.
That's why people don't look at Chris the same way they look at Usher.
I say this many times....
MJ had Quincy and Teddy
JT had Neptunes and Timbo
Usher had JD and Bryan
Who did Chris have????
Tyga??? Kevin McCall????
Nigga please
It's hilarious because Prince wanted to mentor, but he chose to not take his mentorship.
jd also wanted to mentor he was like alot of his classic songs from his 1st two albums writers (johnta austin, james fauntleroy, sean garrett) don't write for him anymore n i feel him writing everything himself without the help from great acclaimed rnb writers restricts his work ( i know he has writers but they are not the level he had on self titled n exclusive)
Usher isn’t as great as Chris Brown,
I’d say usher also isn’t as great as Omarion & Ciara

Edit: My bad. Completely forgot you were talking about 4Batz
Yea it's possible he might become another RealestK but 4Batz clearly has the better support team and cosigns to boot for him to fade away but we'll see tho
