i wouldnt be surprised if he's influenced wayne himself in some way
Wayne went back to the autotune in 2014/2015 BECAUSE he saw Thug blowing up off it, so yea, definitely
I think he evolved with each album but feel like the influences on the debut tape have the most impact since that's the birth of the artist.
I haven't heard a lot of the pre 2017 stuff he did, but Freestyle 4 the People too
that's interesting, do you hear those influences on wlr

not necessarily true if the artist drastically switches up their style after their debut
Carti’s probably the best example of this, where the style he used when he first blew up is drastically different from his current style (which he’s now known for more than his original style), and the influences on each style are clearly sourced from different people

Not really on WLR, even though there's still some Pierre on there its something new. Do you think Keef is the biggest influence on WLR, or someone else?

thats wild, thats around the time lil wayne featured on slime season
i thought that s*** was wild cause that was only like a year after young thug was involved in a shooting involving lil wayne tour bus
i guess wayne seen the vision

i mostly think its carti doing carti
his voice is so raspy now even when hes doing baby voice
only parallel i can make is future, if you slow down carti it literally sounds like future try it
He also made Streets in 2014 so, I guess he's been a legend since then because that's the greatest song to ever be made
The wild thing about Thug is that he does have the discography.
It just has been lost between the leaks and the unreleased s***.
For instance about 75% of thug fans prolly dont know the song in the OP.
Thug has thousands of songs like that. Where he reaches even more ridiculous levels.
It all plays into the lore tho. Truly a one of one type of rapper.
Thug the original lore rapper in terms of snippets fr
Crazy that this is even a question. Dude pushed the limits of rap. Not to mention he initially got s***ted on for his style just to end up becoming one of the most copied artists in the past decade
I was just listening to this song few mins ago as I came across this thread
!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9f1xTkCyGYshame the dude Amherst deleted the tape off his band camp....this a legendary tape.
ps - 1st time hearing song in op, and I like it.
I would say he's a legend in the trap world. his 14-15 run alone cements him
What's the name of the tape?
He arguably was years ago just for how he impacted the game. Once Uzi and them drop that’s when he’s a legend IMO bc he forever altered the rap game
Not being funny/ironic either
He just dont have the discography to match which hopefully is the silver lining in him getting this time to sit down and plot out where he wants to go next assuming they don’t bam him the f*** outta here. Hytunes never dropping as a real album with one of those pre 2016-2018 style rollout moments f***ed up his artistic trajectory
What you mean by 2016-2018 style rollout moments?
