Like that group makes up about 0.6% of the african american population, and sees levels of violence way lower than the average black man but over 75% of the BLM donations are to trans organizations
That's not even the worst thing though, out of the 30 organizations BLM donated to, only 4 of them helped the larger black population and one of them was only specific to black women. 23 of them were trans organizations, 1 of them was about helping the refugees, 1 was aimed only towards haitian immigrants and the last one was an organization aimed at pushing pan-africanism.
I don't get it lol isn't this extremely unethical?
why
because whether it was your intention or not, this thread to gonna bring out all the transphobes who will try and hide their transphobia and bigotry behind "facts" and being "just curious"
Doesn't it explain in the first paragraph how this isn't unethical.
no not really
this organization became big off the deaths of people at the hands of the police like Michael Brown, George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, etc. ........but the huge majority of the money went to trans organizations?
Imagine if millions were raised to battle rape against black women but most of it ended up in the hands of black men...... it wouldnt make sense right?
I don’t know if I’d call this unethical, I believe BLM is heralded by black people in the lgbt community so it makes sense that the types of organizations that they’d gravitate their attention would be ones they align with. I do agree that it is kind of weird tho

that is a deliberately inaccurate a***ogy as black men are not the most vulnerable group when a global pandemic hits. black, queer homeless youths tend to be, and that's what they said they focused on. blm was a movement started by 3 black women, and no movement that hinges on the protection of black lives can do so without taking care of the most marginalized groups in black communities

I still wouldn't call it unethical because they are helping one of the most vulnerable areas of the black community (LGBTQ).
Weird? Sure, with the way you worded it. But I certainly don't see an issue with the list.
@op maybe bc black lgbt people are the victims of the most violent hate crimes

But dude, they did not raise this money because of trans movements, they raised it because of the police violence against mostly black males
Imagine if 10 million was raised to battle hate against trans people but we find out that 8 million went to black men because the leaders of the organizations were men too? Like you don't see how f***ed up that is?
bruh ktt posters are hive minded they will just make an excuse for BLM
Or most people who got behind it, got behind the message not some organization.
It was about saying black lives matter too because historically they really didn’t.
I have no idea where all the extra s*** came from, but we need to get back to it being about the message and not all this other political crap.
i dont think even canadians or people in the UK are so hive minded and dumb imma stay out this thread
No way this doesn’t get locked by page 3
ill raise your bet and say 2nd page
@op maybe bc black lgbt people are the victims of the most violent hate crimes
literally false, this is only parroted because unjust racially biased police brutality isn't counted as hate crimes even though it really is. when you account for that, one particular group is targeted way more than the rest and it's not the lgbt
I feel like they advocate very strongly for trans community and seeing this number makes sense to me. From what I see, BLM positions itself as an “ally” to LGBT groups.
Maybe this could be misleading if someone donates to BLM assuming that money goes to black causes and then finding out 75% of that money goes to trans groups
Or most people who got behind it, got behind the message not some organization.

BLM the message seems to be very separate from BLM the organization
