    Nah he’s the goat.

All his peers acknowledge it and so do the fans. Only people who don’t are literal mouth breathers and people in the media who need to speak up discussion

let me just say this: there's no such thing as the GOAT in any of the spaces we choose to deploy this framing. it's ultimately all subjective discourse, in which stans will argue for their guy

the way i measure it is this: take away all the stats, all the accolades, all the titles, etc and just look at the eye test. who plays the game the best? watch the way the guy actually plays the game. we get so roped up into stats, and advanced a***ytics, and all this s*** to prove "oh i know so much more about the game then you". enough. all we're really just outsmarting our basic instincts: what does the eye test tell you? ngl, using that a***ysis, there are other guys who's eye tests surpass Brady's.

most of a player's accomplishments and s*** is a result of happenstance from the way their careers shape out than it is based off their actual talent:

use Mahomes for example: not to take anything away from him, but for all his talent and praise (and he deserves every bit of it), his career has pretty much been "anything that can go right, will go right" - aside from Dee Ford's offside penalty in that AFC title game:
    • he got drafted into a perennial playoff team
    • he got to sit behind Alex Smith for a season (the perfect QB to learn behind, a bridge, grizzled vet who understands the game - as opposed to sitting behind a future HOF which will lead to QB drama like Montana/Young, Favre/Rodgers, Brady/Garrop)
    • he got drafted to a team with a HOF head coach, who is one of the best offensive/QB masterminds, maybe ever
    • got drafted to a team filled with weapons (Kelce and Hill, namely) for him to put up gaudy numbers.

now ask yourself, does Mahomes have an MVP and a ring at 24 y/o if the Jets took him? he doing this with Bowles or GASE as his coach?

whatever its worth, my top 4 no order is Brady, Marino, Peyton, and Rodgers.

Brady is the ultimate winner, the ultimate competitor. the MJ of the NFL (but i dont think MJ is the GOAT either). his longevity is insane, and probably his best aspect. i'm not trying to take away anything from Brady, he's one of the GOATs, but like i said there are guys who's eye tests surpass Brady's imo. and for all these "what if" games we play, well hey, what if Eli doesn't complete the luckiest pass ever? or if the Philly special falls flat? Brady is just as easily close to being 9-0 in the SB. (but also, why is it that i never see non-Pats fans advocate for Brady as the GOAT? its only the people wit obvious biases who pick Tom Terrific)

Peyton is the most cerebral: he was literally a coach on the field. i'll never forget in his first game with the Broncos, watchin him read the Steelers D before it was set at the goalline, audible Jacob Tamme to the flat with a pick route to attack the soft spot in the D. maestro

Marino is probably the best pure passer ever. hell, he was putting up 2020 pass numbers in the 80s and prolly would be putting up 6K+ wit today's rules

    i'm jus sayin... take care

    That doesn’t answer my question.

Manning had weapons too. Brady has had a legit star receiver for one season

Brady made a career out of doing the most with nothing.

Julian Edelman is 2nd in playoff yards and touchdowns in the post season behind Jerry rice because of Brady

Peyton carried mediocre teams as far as they could go . he’d have won 10 rings with Belicheat and that NE D

Peyton had two hall of fame wr’s his entire colts career

Brady had bums till 2007 -2011

And then relied on constantly injured gronk and julian Edelman the rest

You capin for another white man whats the difference

me defending Peyton in two posts is not the same as writing a whole ass thread in honor of a white man and personally responding to anyone who disagrees with your take. lets not play these games

as far as GOAT discourse goes regarding Brady, read my two posts above on this page.

btw, Brady had weapons too, idk why Brady stans conveniently forget he's had the GOAT TE during the back half of his career. re: Manning, I was referring to his defenses: those Peyton-Colts had 3 good defensive players: Freeney, Mathis, Bob Sanders. everyone else on that D was buns.

Interesting, so any receiver that plays with Brady is nice because of him while for receivers playing with other quarterbacks they're good because of their own talent

Aaron Rodgers is better than Brady in every possible way. Belicheck won those rings, Brady was just fortunate to be the QB chosen to throw the screens and 5 yard passes that won all those games
