Fact is Big did more with those 2 albums more than almost every rapper has done with their whole discographies
Both are classics and he's undeniably one of the best rappers in terms of flow, lyrics. He was also hugely popular while alive, and his music and it's impact still being felt 2 and a half decades later
Not only one of the best technical rappers ever he also one of the most popular and influential
How the hell he not top 5 greatest . Maybe not your personal faves but Its like saying Jordan, LeBron not goats. His body of work and legacy cements itself
Having 2 perfect rap albums back to back is honestly no small feat
Only thing Big didnt have is a huge image like Pac did smh
We cant argue hypotheticals, we can only argue what we have seen and from what we have seen we know that Em could out rap most people’s favs
You think Em outrapping Kendrick / Andre / Black Thought?
Dont give a f*** what he raps about,
He would rap circles around your favorite rapper. End of story.
It's like watching a horror movie then discredit the writing because horror movies are CORNY.
“rap circles” meaning what?
Yes the f*** you can ☠️
Sorry but Ye has never been that number 1 dude in rap
It went from Wayne to Drake
Nah saying he "would rap circles around your favorite" is VERY debatable. Ppl give him too much credit in that regard. he only has gone against bozos. I'm pretty sure Kendrick would wash him (without sounding grating to the ears in the process).
Fame and skills are two completely different things,
Just because said people weren't "famous" dont mean he didn't go at skilled people,
He made a mockery of Canibus whos pengame is extreamly EXTREAMLY sharp,
He came up batteling people, Came second place in competition (Rap Olympic, and that other one)
The reason why people up Em (his rap peers) is because in his prime, when he collabed with you he came in strong, his pen game is dangerous.
I just named one rapper he battled but i'm sure there are more.
Btw MUSIC is SUBJECTIV,
That' was my opinion and thats it.
Best hip hop artist of all time are BIG, Pac, Dre and Ye. You can argue top 5 MCs, if you want. Those 4 made the best music in rap history. Ice Cube, Nas, BIG, Rakim, Wayne, Scarface, Andre, Jay, Em compete for the best MC category.

You're 100% right music is subjective. And, I respect your opinion.
You think Em outrapping Kendrick / Andre / Black Thought?
Yes
Hell yes
And maybe
Dont get me wrong I dont think the Em we have today could but Em at his peak was a monster and was widely respected for a reason
Biggie is unequivocally the best rapper of all time to me and that will never change. Sorry OP
Basically Biggie, Jay, Nas and Pac are the top 4 in whatever order you wanna put them, the 5th spot is arguable, but not by someone who doesn’t even write his own s***
I agree Big ain’t in my top 5 fav rapper list just for lack of material but if we talking top 5 most skilled he’s definitely in there
Pac is not top 5 as an all around artist imo either, I may be biased bc I wasn’t old enough to experience the wave but his larger than life personality caries his legacy a lot more than his actual talent/music/discog.
He had a great voice and extremely passionate and engaging delivery but his technical ability was pretty average. 2pacalyspe now has some gems and is classic in the “this is a cool ass old rap album” type of way but it’s not a masterpiece on the level of Illmatic, Ready to Die, Reasonable Doubt, College Dropout, GKMC, etc
S4MN is pretty much good bc of the singles (I get around etc)
MATW is Pac magnum opus and a true masterpiece pac best album imo
I’m not mad at anyone who thinks AEOM is a masterpiece but I don’t, great album but I can’t listen to it in one sitting, too much filler
Don killuminati is raw asf which works for the most part but a lot of the songs are rough to the point that they sound poorly executed
And then ofc all that posthumous s*** is irrelevant
Lastly Eminem doesn’t have a spot in my top 5 either. Top 10 for sure but not top 5. 2 reasons:
1)well over 50% of his discog is unlistenable (sslp, MMLP & Eminem show his only great albums)
2)his subject matter is limited asf. When he’s not talking about his trauma or being a degenerate he literally sounds lost which is why his later albums are so bad.
The true top 6 ever hip/hop artist in no particular order (can’t pick 5)
Jay-Z
Kanye West
Nas
Lil Wayne
Drake
Kendrick Lamar
You can in no way have Ye in a top 5 before Wayne what a joke
depends on the list. as an MC hell no but as a hiphop artist you can argue Ye one of the most influential of all time
Sorry but Ye has never been that number 1 dude in rap

This. People be debating two different things. The skill argument is wayyyy too subjective so it’s pointless imo but the greatest artist debate can definitely be supported by actual facts
Em has 11 albums and 3 classics and been doing this for decades, he's not in my top5 but it's easy to see why people would have him over big who only has 2 albums
I can see why too but at the same time,BIGS two classics hold more weight than Em’s 3. All those Em albums were of their time but were influential for that era while LAD and RTD are still standard bearers in Hip Hop.
depends on the list. as an MC hell no but as a hiphop artist you can argue Ye one of the most influential of all time
Yea you can say that but the number of people Waybe has influenced and the impact they made is even greater.
All of the young rappers coming up now cite Wayne as making them want to rap
And thats way more important than influencing a Paul McCartney 50 years past his prime 🤷🏿♂️
If BIG gets taken off the list then so should 2Pac. The first 3 Pac albums don't come close to Ready to Die.
