There ain’t a single therapist or psychiatrist on the planet that can say with 100% accuracy whether a killer has truly changed or is only pretending
And I’m willing to keep every killer that might have changed their life around in jail to avoid having the one that convinces the therapist that he’s/she’s changed only to be let out and kill more people
Most crimes are also crimes of necessity and we can also take steps to eliminate the material conditions that lead people to turn to crime.

I do agree current prison system has to be abolished. You esp loco if you're non-white and think the current prison system is fine.
In the cases of 0.1% of prisoners who killed 10 people or something, pretty sure they'd be classified as severely mentally ill and would prob stay in a rehabilitation center for their lifetime. People wouldn't agree to let a serial killer be completely free even without prisons.
Y'all are basically arguing that 98% of prisoners who didn't do very vile things should continue suffering just so the 2% who did really crazy things get their punishment. The logic is weird

using the most extreme cases, which i suspect make up under 1% of people currently imprisoned, is not making a point. but yes, clearly these people are deeply disturbed and ill and perhaps we should be trying to figure out why, what caused it if anything, and if it can be helped.
Some people are beyond help.
The real thing we have to do is invest in mental health in children and adults so the horrible childhoods and the eventual response to those childhoods don’t happen. Mental Health should be a right for everybody.

But you said literally only hitler, when there have been numerous others who have committed some of the worst crimes. Criminals like serial killers, traitors, terrorists, and such definitely don’t deserve another chance

serial killers are psychologically disturbed so we def need to investigate further.
terrorists are another story altogether and in most cases are born out of desperation.

I don’t know for sure but I’d infer there’s more than enough violent crimes that are done out of mental problems as opposed to necessity.
Yeah maybe robberies are done out of necessity but that’s one of the only crime categories I can think of that applies there

Jail exists for classism purposes and as a reaction to public outcry.
Jail hasn't stopped the amount of criminals from increasing.

I wasn’t referring to Edward Snowden, someone like who’s helping out another garbage country (don’t know how to explain it but whatever).
Serial Killers are beyond repair fam, better throw them in a place where they’ll learn their lesson and unfortunately what if one fakes their way out of a rehab only to commit crimes again?

May 16, 2020·2 repliesSynopsis· editedI know this sort of thing is really controversial to some people because they've been fearmongered into believing this form of legalized slavery is the only thing preventing rapist/murderers from roaming the streets, but the idea of locking people in literal cages and having them perform slave labor and live in inhumane conditions is such a ridiculous concept. There's no reason we can't get rid of all jails, move to a strictly rehabilitation centered approach and create a more humane society.
that's also of course without even getting into the racial element of jail/prison and legalized slave labor.
edit: also this is where near all crim justice reforms fall short. they p much entirely ignore "violent offender"
EDIT: Get rid of rehab centers too. All incarceration methods are illegitimate
