I just don’t get where they think the money is going to come from
At the end of the day it’s consumers who don’t want to pay to listen to music
They are not the first people to try to solve this problem

Yeah the only paid strategy that I think will work is a Patreon-esc services where you can can access an individual artist’s music for x amount a month

But even then that won’t work cuz streaming is doing that and offering access to ever artist in the world lol

Yeah, he even says in the video it's just about cutting the middlemen who take too much money and also labels block release music until a certain date. This way he'll be able to release more.

Kinda checks out cause I remember wavs of his last album leaked dated like late 2022 and they were completely finished. Man had to wait a year to release the album.

But idk.. I was expecting something more revolutionary

  • Mar 20, 2024

yeah this is not taking off

  • Mar 20, 2024

i mean if they get big artists on there whose music leaks all the time, that platform could take off. people paying for group buys could easily just subscribe to an artist on that app instead and get music from the vault directly without harming them. kinda solves leak problems as well. just needs more/bigger artist to get it going.

Interesting concept, but to me this only has value as the listener if you can download the songs

Maximize the inherent novelty of a first song listen within a given release format

A movie theater, for example, does this with the inherent novelty of watching a motion picture on a big screen for the first time - the format maximizes the sensory experience of a film, from the big ass visuals in your face to the booming surrounding sound. This engages us from the getgo (so it isn’t a waiting game like a first song listen)

Now what can maximize the sensory experience of a song, so that the inherent novelty of a first song listen can also be maximized? Let’s figure THIS out. And better yet, how can it be done within the existing formats like Spotify and YouTube? It’ll turn first music listens into the type of experience we only see when a new movie/show/video game releases that people are hyped for. And that means music that people are more willing and primed to throw their money at and value

…Or s*** maybe not idk cuz
