this idea has been around for years and it doesn't really thread the needle in terms of solving music industry issues smh
Lil Ugly Mane's take. He has a few more posts on his ig story
do you have the rest of the screenshots?
yeah this is literally just patreon. but idk if they hav HQ files of artists' whole libraries + exclusive s*** that isn't anywhere else /and/ they manage to get big names on it this could take off. feels more like it's competing with bandcamp than streaming and bandcamp never rlly made it mainstream.
a specialised platform just for music artists where u give a couple quid a month to get exclusive music and chat to them is a rlly good idea on paper. would've been huge in the ipod era. unfortunately we're in an era where centralised networks r trying to make specialised websites extinct. we'll see.
that "touring one clip of one song" part immediately gave me flashbacks to that Steve Lacy concert clip
Bad Habit my least favorite song of all time :vlosereave:
Should've just got on Patreon
Partnership with vault will give him more money than being a standard Patreon user. It’s the other artists that sign on to this that will receive no additional benefit versus Patreon. It’s a bit slimy from JB.

Seems like a lot of hassle to avoid the small cut Patreon takes
Site is so barebones too, there's hardly any info available on this thing.
Oh so he mad that he ended up getting known as the Godspeed guy and it’s not his own song, got it
This nigga over here cooking and I’m like “who could possibly oppose what he’s saying??” And then you come in with this dumbass comment
idk if i was already a successful musician i wouldn’t take the advice of a white rapper with a three six mafia fetish

he's right
divest from the industry, it's a parasitic, artificial barrier for people to make money off the backs of artists
Blame consumerism. Spotify and other streaming platforms need to charge $20 for streaming this much music.
Otherwise nobody in the digital age wants to buy music since it's consumed like slop for the general masses
So f*** the consumers?
So f*** the consumers?
It's a two way streak for this. Look how much we pirate music and get mad at the idea of paying more for streaming which arguably is being undervalued for $10 with all label music being able to be played.
The Godspeed cover thing sounds kind of dumb lol.
That's like you being mad that your friend won the lottery by playing your birthday or something.

put some respect on Ugly Mane’s name
underground legend
It’s over
You signed what you signed is so sung cause the pandemic lead to tik tok and streaming booming more than they ever would have
Kanye reposted James’ video about Vault on his Instagram Stories
If Ye is on board with this platform/service..
My thoughts on this is…
Don’t the label managers have the artist in a contract where they own some share of all the music an artist puts out in the artist name?
Also the unreleased music, that is now getting released?
I just don’t understand how vault is supposed to bypass all deals between labels and artists.

So you've only heard 1, maybe 2 out of his like 12 albums then?
