You don’t do the “- Brave” thing anymore huh
Reserved for big posts. Haven’t done it in a while tho tbh lol
does it say anywhere online that Roc Nation donated money?
@Nikedufflebag
I think the money is coming directly from them

Only e commies can turn kids getting a shot at a better education into a bad thing lol
Lot of grass roots organizations are made up of folks that work regular 9-5s so maybe.
I know 2-3 folks off this site alone that definitely be active community organizers for various causes that matter.
This idea of money being the cure to all the evils (when it’s just a bandaid) when private/charter schools have a history of being damn racist at times, plays right into the cycle of capitalism that ultimately in the end fails us all.
for all the “e-commie” jokes there are a lot of ppl here communists or not that I probably don’t even know who are active in organizing within there community
The whole “do people give back the same as a billionaire? Then shut up”
Is so disingenuous because of course most working people can’t actually afford to give millions to people, that’s sort of the name of the game. It doesn’t matter if the rich person is white, black, Asian
Grassroots organizing from a leftist perspective have always had the challenges of not having enough money and time compared to the ruling class
2) people that always use that argument definitely dont do anything in their community, otherwise they would be knowledgeable enough to understand why it’s a stupid comment to begin with
Regardless true chsnge always come from the bottom up putting pressure
Jay Z (a capitalist) giving a bone to bandaid a problem within American society isn’t going to fix anything just like some oil CEO donating a couple million to “protecting” the environment. And even if you say “well no one is talking about changing or overthrowing, just doing a good deed” then it’s still dumb because people being able to accrue that much wealth in the first place is why the system doenst work
I’m not talking about you just ranting lol
I hear you but at the end of the day it’s 300 million dollars towards the education of kids that need it.
Kids from the hood are gonna get to go to
private school and have a better shot at class mobility
why is "class mobility" desirable? the entire idea is anti-egalitarian. black people can't become upper-middle class white people through some sheer force of will, the country is built on keeping africans as an internal colony.
I think the money is coming directly from them
you can't make those kinds of assumptions though
This type of wishful thinking is what the corporate bigwigs count on
they pay news media to write articles about "Jay-Z is Helping get $300 million in scholarships" so people think they're giving out money
but until we get confirmation, you don't know if they donated anything
they're holding informational meetings about a senate bill that hasn't even been passed and you niggas are praising him.
just bc he made classic tracks like Imaginary Players doesn't mean Jay is above manipulating the narrative

It’s desirable because at the end of the day the system we live in is capitalism and that’s never gonna change.

lol ok bro, whatever you say

You really don’t see how someone from a low income area would want to improve their financial situation?

You’re right but I’m giving him the benefit of the doubt on this for the sake of argument

of course I do, I'm not stupid. my point is this doesnt help black people as a permanent underclass of western society.
Private schools
How about donating this money to a public school instead, which would impact more students for a longer period of time? But if course that wouldn’t fit the interests of Jay Z’s class
F*** Jay Z
The truth is putting underprivileged kids in privileged environments often fails, so instead funding public schools would probably be wiser so this isn't a terrible take

The commies and “joined in 2024” users have really ruined multiple aspects of this site lately. And I am saying that as someone who is pro commie

Yes but I don’t think this is intended to be some fix all solution
Why not use the 300 million to assist in fixing a system and increase the standing of ALL underprivileged kids
$300 million is not enough to increase the standing of all underprivileged kids.
Also, you can't solve every problem by simply throwing money at it.
You have to make sure the resources are allocated properly and make sure the people are competent enough to make the right decisions.
For example, when it comes to donating public schools, they operate within a complex system that includes local, state, and federal regulations.
Sometimes it might be hard to implement things due to bureaucratic constraints and systemic issues.
Getting certain things and trying to fix the "system" is more complicated than it seems.
That’s wassup! Hella smart kids in bad ass schools now have a higher chance of making it out, god bless.
Money is the best type of support 💯
If done properly this is the good part of all of this. Certainly not worth derision

youre a s***pervert and a serb who says the n-word
youre a s***pervert and a serb who says the n-word
Do you know how much of a buffoon you actually have to be to believe either of those things
This is good. The causes of education's issues don't stop at education itself, so it's not as simple as a singular person spearheading funding for a few public schools, although it does help. As does this
Only e commies can turn kids getting a shot at a better education into a bad thing lol
them mfs can be annoying but i pick things up sometimes when they aren’t evangelizing too hard
a lot of ktt would’ve listened to local priests in the 1700s still telling people they gotta trust in the King and his royal blood while fighting emerging capitalists
Colleges get big endowments from many individual rich donors or interest groups that affect how universities operate, such as enrollment. Many universities that want to be seen as Ivy League tier schools will then market to more predominantly white upper middle class families, which leads to college towns gentrifying poor areas and essentially having a monopoly on employment within the area
Many corporations, such as Boeing and Lockheed Martin have job fairs at many schools, employees that come to give lectures, etc to pipeline students into becoming eventual employees for the MIC. This is even more apparent in Ivy League schools such as Harvard or Yale where many former Presidents and other high level politicians in Washington attend, then later go on to work at major media outlets or outright WH positions…
More egregiously if you’ve paid attention to the Palestine protests at many universities, they have called for Divestment as a goal, meaning to stop giving money to companies such as Lockheed Martin, etc who directly assist in building weapons to aid in Israel’s genocide
These aren’t wild demands, but they do affect universities at a material level and directly clash with the conflict of interests of the ruling class, so they have been met with police oppression
Not trying to make anything sound sinister but this is just the reality of the system works
When you put it like that, I guess
but honestly don't want to get into the military industrial complex issue
That would need it's own thread.
