His apathy is not endearing, imo. Without seeming childish, the best way I can word it is that he essentially got famous for being a mean kid. He grew up, rebranded as flowers and smiles, but maintains his mean spirit just spews it outward in a different way.
Tyler is the white woman who became a nurse after highschool. Stay woke
Damn
After the Carmichael show I completely lost track of himâŠneedless to say what a reintroduction
mr morale and the big steppers influence
Nathan Fielder influence
People tryna say Tyler is wrong and he should've handled this in a more mature way and I'm like....niggas aren't allowed to say no and reject the advances of a friend?
Don't try to be someone's friend just to backdoor them with some "I always liked you" type s***. Be friends with somebody cause you wanna be their friend. Not cause you wanna f***.
Tyler handled this exactly how he should've. This s*** was awkward as hell and seemed like it was sprung on him out of nowhere. Jerrod wrong as f*** for tryna record this s*** and make Tyler out to be a bad guy cause he wasn't interested.
On top of all this, Tyler has made it abundantly clear that he's pretty much only into white twinks, white girls, and lightskin girls. Jerrod is neither of these. So what did he think was going to happen
Why does Jerrod's line start exactly the same way his line on New Magic Wand does
Why does Jerrod's line start exactly the same way his line on New Magic Wand does
Same tone and everything
He wants to be like the gay Chappelle
I think Jerrod is a very intelligent guy who has the potential to make something truly great.
I dont believe he knows what that project is yet, and is kind of fumbling through things and is in a weird surreal meta phase in his life.
It seems like heâs going for that âCurb your Enthusiasmâ -self deprecation style of comedy. That second clip kinda seemed scripted but it was probably a mix of real sentiment and a bit of improv theyâre both in on.
I can see him turning that style into show. His whole theme will be about navigating the nuances of gay black manhood or whatever.
Kinda boring if you ask me lol

People keep pointing out Tylerâs dating preferences like thats the only reason it wont work
But what about the fact that Tyler has said for years he views Jerrod as a big brother and someone he admires and looks up to
That was probably mad awkward considering their dynamic
Tyler been shouting from the rooftops for centuries he only likes white men and this dude thought he had a chance?
Black gays never pair with other black gays. Pretty interesting.
False

the amount of likes this got is very telling lmaooo yâall niggas are lame as f***
I just donât like this dude, since that movie where he part of Zak Efron crew then his voice on Igor was annoying. all around dork

Whatâs with this backdoor narrative that always gets brought out in these situations? You hear this a lot from women, they say the dude betrayed their friendship. But that always just feels like a weird spin to me. Iâm sure he was friends with him to start and then along the way grew feelings.
Filming it makes s*** weird, but if this was a real situation Iâd expect Tyler to be a lil more mature. Just like a, âdamn that sucks man, youâre a great friend but I donât have feelings for you like that.â

That's also very true, and it's why I'm looking at Jerrod funny cause if their relationship has always just been friendly and they respect one another as artists and they developed a kinship that is equivalent to family...why the hell would he mess that up by trying to turn it into something romantic? Unless his whole modus operandi was to just play the friend until he had a chance to make it romantic. And if that is the case....ion know man that just seems very wrong to me.
Jerrod was out of place in poor things!
His role was supposed to be played by a cracka and was a British imperialist in the book
Kanye, for a handful of reasons, is sincerely manic, emotionally unstable and bipolar. But his ego actually lends itself to moments of sincerity â heâs confident enough to be vulnerable.
Im not arguing Tyler is insecure â the opposite. Tyler is, to simplify it, just saner than Kanye. He isnât manic, he isnât bipolar, he would never impulsively start rambling about p*** addiction or compare himself to Bill Cosby.
Tyler is meticulous, calculated, and level headed, even if presents himself as wacky goofy. People refer to Flower Boy as a âturnâ but if you look back â on Golf, his numerous tv shows, media empire ambitions, to name only a few â it becomes obvious he wanted to be a star for his entire career and it just happened that pastel, alt rnb art rap was the way to get their.
The âturnâ that Flower Boy represents actually isnât entirely about aesthetics or music. Itâs attitude. Flower Boy, more than any other album of his, but especially distinct from WOLF and CHERRY BOMB, is cynical.
Beyond Tyler though it was an absolute vibe shift that came to, for better or for worse, represent an entire moment. In my opinion itâs just so lame compared to Wolf.
I donât understand how you think Flower Boy is lamer than Wolf. Flower Boy showed so much maturity and growth. He even said he actually locked in and learned music theory and how to write good records. You think an album that still jokes about rape and has Trashwang on it is not lame at all? Flower Boy is essentially the music he wanted to make since day 1 if you really pay attention.
I just feel like this forum violates Tyler all the time and doesnât have any valid critiques other than not liking him for who he is. Musically itâs undeniable how much better he continues to be

Sounds like Jerrod just wanted a more insightful/deeper convo about it all
Which like look who tf you talking too dawg lmao

I feel like if this situation is real then Tyler looked uncomfortable and was trying to play it off
I feel like confronting someone about why they donât want to be with you on camera is borderline manipulative and I donât get why everyone is acting like Jerrod Carmichael is a victim in this situation
Because he got rejected? Literally everybody is going to get rejected at some point in life
