I think Jerrod is a very intelligent guy who has the potential to make something truly great.
I dont believe he knows what that project is yet, and is kind of fumbling through things and is in a weird surreal meta phase in his life.
It seems like heâs going for that âCurb your Enthusiasmâ -self deprecation style of comedy. That second clip kinda seemed scripted but it was probably a mix of real sentiment and a bit of improv theyâre both in on.
I can see him turning that style into show. His whole theme will be about navigating the nuances of gay black manhood or whatever.

Whatâs with this backdoor narrative that always gets brought out in these situations? You hear this a lot from women, they say the dude betrayed their friendship. But that always just feels like a weird spin to me. Iâm sure he was friends with him to start and then along the way grew feelings.

That's also very true, and it's why I'm looking at Jerrod funny cause if their relationship has always just been friendly and they respect one another as artists and they developed a kinship that is equivalent to family...why the hell would he mess that up by trying to turn it into something romantic? Unless his whole modus operandi was to just play the friend until he had a chance to make it romantic. And if that is the case....ion know man that just seems very wrong to me.

crakcKanye, for a handful of reasons, is sincerely manic, emotionally unstable and bipolar. But his ego actually lends itself to moments of sincerity â heâs confident enough to be vulnerable.
Im not arguing Tyler is insecure â the opposite. Tyler is, to simplify it, just saner than Kanye. He isnât manic, he isnât bipolar, he would never impulsively start rambling about p*** addiction or compare himself to Bill Cosby.
Tyler is meticulous, calculated, and level headed, even if presents himself as wacky goofy. People refer to Flower Boy as a âturnâ but if you look back â on Golf, his numerous tv shows, media empire ambitions, to name only a few â it becomes obvious he wanted to be a star for his entire career and it just happened that pastel, alt rnb art rap was the way to get their.
The âturnâ that Flower Boy represents actually isnât entirely about aesthetics or music. Itâs attitude. Flower Boy, more than any other album of his, but especially distinct from WOLF and CHERRY BOMB, is cynical.
Beyond Tyler though it was an absolute vibe shift that came to, for better or for worse, represent an entire moment. In my opinion itâs just so lame compared to Wolf.
I donât understand how you think Flower Boy is lamer than Wolf. Flower Boy showed so much maturity and growth. He even said he actually locked in and learned music theory and how to write good records. You think an album that still jokes about rape and has Trashwang on it is not lame at all? Flower Boy is essentially the music he wanted to make since day 1 if you really pay attention.
