a classic, near flawless to me and the hate it received was very reactionary and expected due to the religious theme and the solid chunk of his fanbase formed of edgy teens
There are so many almost good ideas that he wasn’t even remotely close to finishing.
It wasn’t the concept that was bad it was the execution.

I agree but I also think the end product is sometimes minimalistic on purpose
Like ye the album, it's a very good snapshot into his life at the time, in the future it will act as a time capsule.
There are obvious musical shortcomings but for the reasons listed above I don't rank it last in his discography.
Ass album, best track is Every Hour
Sunday Services were special tho 10/10
Rather listen to the Choir album than JIK

This is the laziest and lamest excuse or critique:
“this doesn’t sound finished”
Since when does art need to follow the same trajectory as a consumer product?
The production is mesmerizing and striking to my ears.
I accept it for what it is and what it tries to do.
Amazing
i’m very blown away kanye made something like Water. beautiful composition
Been said that’s my favourite track
Super psychedelic
that whole era was beautiful from start to finish, the Coachella, the sunday service, the listening parties. I wish he could've expanded more with the music like a deluxe or 3 more tracks or smth before switching to the God's Country/DONDA With Child era but hey that's ye and that's the case with every era that's what makes him special fr
jesus is king was like top 5 kanye eras. the album is obviously the worst in his discography but still pretty decent
