Step 1 really is rewatch it I’m not joking on that it’s been 3 years you have to have seen it more recently or at least attempted to rewatch to have a discussion because I guarantee you forgot a lot

i loved us but i think i was stricken with the slickness rather than get out which is kind of a great balance of slick + substance.

Yeah I was playing the s*** out of this when US first came out

i did but i’m ngl i don’t really feel motivated to watch it again

the flaws i remember having, was there not being a sense of suspense for me. it all fell apart when the white family got killed for me tbh. i just remember asking myself, how is this a horror movie if i know the main family cant/isn’t going to die?

i don’t remember the story beats in detail, but idek i’m not motivated to go back to it

If Jordan Peele is making it, I'm watching it

Pretty much, yeah.

Would've been a bit better had they found a way to not crunch in a terrible explanation at the end that only drives a larger wedge into the story.

But yeah Peele seems to have a ton of talent and the cast for NOPE is flawless I’m super excited for NOPE

The humor and elegant metaphor were nice. I think what really fell flat were the set pieces tbh. Just like the actual confrontations between them and their dopplegangers are pretty weak. There’s so much tension without a satisfying release. They chase each other or fight and it’s pretty underwhelming.

Get Out was a lot more unnerving by sticking with that tension more than bringing it to a head. Always boiling under the surface. Just a simpler idea overall.

100% wayyy too many plot holes

US felt like something that should of been just a skit or 25 minute episode of the twilight Zone. I did love how it looked and felt like peele took his directing skills up a notch, so I'm still hyped for NOPE.
