This was my only gripe but I still kinda loved the concept. I was curious if they were gonna tie it that the monkey was abducted but I kinda like that it was just this horrific but feasible in reality incident

I feel the exact same way as you, which is why I won’t get hung up on it. Definitely a missed opportunity tho

So f***ing good oh my god don’t even know how to talk about it without spoiling but MAN the alien design is one of my favorite in a long time. Turning the saucer idea on its head and then the transformation at the end!!!! F\*\*\*ing incredible and I love how he executed it seeming beyond comprehension but still a predator. The way they set up the rules of the alien and showing how it moved and acted was pulled off so well to me. And everyone killed their roles man. Keke & Daniel obviously stole the show though, but I was kinda surprised at how much less Steven Yeun was in it than the tech guy character. But I liked what they did with his character and the ideas I could gather about media sensationalizing tragedy & the way the Haywoods continued their family legacy of stunt work. The Gordo stuff gave alot of weight to the big abduction, like Christ I felt so bad for that actress man & Yeun’s character. I need another viewing to really take it all in cus there was so much spectacle and the pacing was so good. The only thing I had a problem with was them killing Keith David IMMEDIATELY like !!!! What the hell was that !!!! But I loved this a lot on first watch. I had high hopes n I was really blown away. I need to watch again I might just go again this weekend

I’m saying man, totally loved how near the end, you could actually see that the ufo is made of flesh and it’s bones/exoskeleton Start to show before the transformation

And the cinematography style So many great shots and setups and the night stuff was done so well. The entirety of the house scene :jessie: And then even in broad daylight the way it’s shot you are still constantly terrified of it and feel the immense presence with the characters not looking and it constantly being in the background. When it finally lets you see at the end and transforms.... Just awesome

Daniel K was good af as the level headed one but both KK and DK both gave unique performances for this type of film.

It really kept surprising me and when it started trying to like communicate with its ‘mouth’ was crazy. So otherworldly and amazing and such a great payoff

that house scene where she's talking about that horse she was promised(wasn't it Jean Jacket) and never got and they cut to Daniels face and how natural the light/darkness was so good

The fact they had him name the alien after Jean Jacket and Emerald ends up actually taming it herself with the balloon in the end

never knowing what we just witnessed,just like the characters in the movie,leaves such a lasting impression. I think trying to piece together exactly what thst thing was through the monkey scene is sorta the wrong way to look at it imo i think that scene is meant to give you an example of what that thing is made of then anything else
