I didn’t like the shoe standing up or the horse title cards either, Logan.

I watched the movie with a few people. One Person compared it to TV as the titles almost acted as commercials. I didn’t want to tell him a movie shouldn’t feel like a tv show so I just said reaaaaaal good observation and kept it pushin.

I forgot about the akira motorcycle slide, didn’t realize that was what JP paid homage to. Same person said “what was the point of that ,” when keke slid the motorcycle lol. To me the execution and visuals of the slide were great but it felt jammed in there rather than the character doing it out of need

S*** is ugggggly but I feel tik tok, cape movies, instageam, steaming w/o commercials, etc all create a bunch of impatient movie viewers

I thought the cinematographer was one of the best parts of the movie, but not a lot of people have met that type of crazed free old white guy filmmaker before

DK’s body language with his hands/fingers was on point…he had a lot of good stuff in here.

Imagine Logan Paul being a credible film critic what he said about the movie doesn't even sound like "the worst movie he's ever seen"

Every single question Logan asks has a simple and easy answer if you just think about the movie for more than two seconds though.

1. They ruled it as airplane debris from the sky; it’s urban legend that a quarter dropped from the Empire State Building can fall fast and long enough to kill someone, it’s not actually true but then again this movie is about aliens so not everything has to be real life accurate.

2. The movie emphasizes bad miracles. The “bad miracle” of the shoe standing up combined with Gordy fist bumping Jupe made him believe that he was special or had some special connection with animals / aliens.

3. He was clearly not right mentally because he took the meds before they started, so he’s a representation of the “tortured artist” stereotype (name one genius that ain’t crazy). He was obsessed with getting the “impossible shot” so that’s why he sacrificed himself to get it.

4. I agree it did seem like he was supposed to be some type of villain but then I realized he’s supposed to represent the theme of media trying to steal / whitewash from black creators, a theme that is prevalent throughout the entire movie.

5. It’s clear that Jupe remains close with her and/or takes care of her in some form because she’s clearly disabled from the attack.

6. He has trauma yes, but he also believes that he’s special and chosen to interact with other species. And he has the park because he’s an actor and he believes in spectacle, another big theme of the movie.

7. The film is divided into chapters centered around each animal, the last one being Jean Jacket to further emphasize that the UFO is an animal and not an alien.

8. This I can understand, she was in the movie for virtually no reason but it’s reasonable to assume that she had more scenes that got cut.

9. Like someone else ITT said, he’s the leading man, and the character’s father died in the beginning of the movie so of course he’s gonna be more serious and not as outgoing. Daniel did a great acting job as always.

10. Animals literally eat things that they shouldn’t be eating all the time because they’re animals, they don’t know any better.

#7 JP made the decision to divide the film. He can have whatever reasoning in the world for it. Doesn’t mean I have to like it.

Dude they talk about him being an animal and not a ship many times. The title card is just repetitive information.

I’m not LP. The shoe standing up isn’t ruining the movie for me, which I liked btw. What I am is a filmmaker who will look and listen to everything in a two hour movie that took two years to make.

If I had to guess how they worked it into the movie, and this is my truly outlandish 1000-to-1 impossible guess, I would say it was

probably an inconspicuous line dropped during an episode of Gordy's Home by the rocket scientist dad, shown during the cut scenes that take place in obsessive fan Nobody's house as he's rewatching tapes (featuring the theme song Peele tweeted out) before going to shoot up the set. Something about being watched by the same extraterrestrial life we're watching, idk could be anything. But that would then tie back to the opening credits scene of the alien's focal point (the mouth-eye) watching the 2 second clip of a man on the horse that started Haywood Horses. I think we'd find that this film strip clip was shot into space as part of the Voyager golden record (they put stupider s\*\*\* on there tbh) and somehow the alien ran into it, developing a taste for spectacle and horses

Every single one of these points are midwit-level nitpicking non issues besides #4.
I feel bad for people who watch movies with this type of mentality. How can you truly enjoy anything if you’re questioning stupid trivial s*** that doesn’t even matter? You must always be prepared to suspend some disbelief, ESPECIALLY in a sci fi blockbuster

I enjoyed it but there were some ? Moments. Most have already been mentioned here.

Random event where power goes out, screeching is heard from the sky and random items fall from the sky with enough force to kill your father with a coin.
So the next time the power goes out and you hear screeching in the sky… you aren’t scared s***less of random stuff falling from the sky and killing you??? No one seemed to be worried about being killed like the father.

The Alien dropping items in the first scene from high up had enough force to go thru a mans skull - which makes sense.
But later when the alien is DIRECTLY above the house, letting the blood rain down, the coins and keys still seem to be traveling fast enough to stab thru the porch? My gf said maybe the alien farts them out with extreme speed.

Overall I liked it better than Us tho.
