I would never in my life go in a thread of an anime I DONT like….to spread how bad I think it is.

Exactly, its not like she could survive in any way against mahito so at that point make her death more believable if you truly want to discard her entirely

  • Dec 3, 2023

But also using a last minute flashback to make her death suddenly feel more impactful is wack and reminiscent of those shonen tropes jjk fans usually dislike so its funny to see how the tables have turned

People don’t see the distinction and beauty in JJK deaths. The characters that die could’ve easily lived and had their storylines continued. Essentially their lives were cut short and Gege then had to give them bittersweet closure for not making it far to accomplish their goals. In other shonen you will have maybe 1 minimum to 3 max of unexpected deaths. Everyone else would be throwaway tertiary characters that died that had no fans and the author knew was expendable, basically HXH. Only Kite and Netero really died that was like damn. Even then Kite in the anime literally gets introduced to then just get killed. I don’t know how people are saying Meruem, who everyone knew was the damn villain would die and Komugi who no one cared about. Villain deaths don’t f***ing count lol

Or simply nobara's death could've been handled better, and not relegated to a quick flashback and a plot device for the protagonist, especially with her being one of the MC's best friends.
And the amount of deaths has no bearing on a series quality, sometimes even one death executed to perfection is better than a massacre just for the sake of it. Jjk itself so far has had better executed deaths. Gege missed with Nobara, series is still good btw, a lot of manga have some writing issues, no big deal

Like the hypocrisy is real. I’m actually confused lol it’s like they desperately need death flags to be shoehorned to them 5 arcs before. They can’t deal with real consequences to live time actions. And I felt nothing for Kite, just went damn he was here for like 5 episodes and seemed like a cool character. I didn’t go ohh noo. But still that didn’t detract or make anything worse. That is just how Togashi felt the need to do it. People are for sure just looking to take away from Gege again.

So you are saying she should not have been in Shibuya and ruined her character by not marching forward as a jujutsu sorcerer? she knew death was imminent. You couldn’t have written her not supposedly dying here without plot armor because she kept chasing Mahito as it fits her character, and he lured her into his trap. I don’t know if you read the manga part of this but how it was conveyed there was much different. The angle she got caught was her blind spot, the anime failed to show that correctly and didn’t include the narration.

Don't have a problem with Nobara, but it's worth noting that in the Hunter x Hunter manga, Kite is introduced along with Gon & is the character on the cover of chapter 1. Kite is also the reason Gon wants to be a hunter in the first place, which he tells Killua during the Hunter exam - not Ging (who did not in fact abandon him but was forced by Mito to relinquish his custody). Bizarrely, the 2011 anime decided to change a great deal of the beginning.

Nobara’s character did work off of mostly sheer likability, if they were going to do that episode they should’ve done a non-manga episode focusing on her, but she already didn’t have much to do this season anyways so it wouldn’t have mattered either way

I always thought the 1999 version was better. HxH fits that aesthetic better too. Like I don’t like 2011 designs but that’s just me. I know what you mean and I misspoke but yeah from an anime standpoint how it can be perceived. Same way how the anime took the liberty to make it seem Nobara just stood there and got touched, people are getting the wrong message.

    Mahito is an excellent character.

All the disaster curses are great characters. I feel Jogo is so underrated. He doesn’t even see himself as the bad guy, and is friendly towards other curses because he thinks they are the real humans and he’s willing to stake his existence on giving them the rightful ruling.

I complain a lot about this series but i like it a lot it's my fav new-gen shonen besides chainsaw man. It's more of i can see it being a 10/10 or a 9.5 series but its issues bring it down to like 7.5 and issues are more glaring in a series you like as opposed to one you don't care about
