Agree except I love Hakari for the same reasons you like Higuruma.

Your spoiled points make a tonne of sense, Gege had balanced that nicely up until Shibuya. But now I’m getting fatigued by the asspulls he’s using to subvert expectations. It feels incredibly rushed and he doesn’t give us any insight into how the characters felt after some key events.

Man is just doing battle after battle. It all made sense once I read he plans on ending it soon.

finally someone itt with some common sense & not engaging in bad faith

but yeah shibuya was so great because everything leading up to that point was set up well. we actually got to stick with these characters, see them train to become stronger, how they interact/work with each other (see: yuji & todo for example).

we've also seen what the villains are capable of, their purpose in the story and a gist of their plan. NOW they've thrown a curveball at us by sealing gojo into a cube for the entire arc. there is actual stakes placed in. the heroes have to put their training to use and fend for themselves to survive because since just lost their biggest asset.

culling games of course has some of these same characters but they've also introduced multiple characters who dont have any characteristic traits or nearly the amount of set up shibuya (or any other jjk arc prior for that matter) had. so when one of them dies off i dont really feel anything from it, just another character fodder removed to advance the story

You sound alot more like youre arguing in bad faith when you disrespect a genuine top tier character in Higurama. And I am still not sure if you have read the manga since I mean what more could you want from a character like Takaba in the last mini-arc where he literally stole the role of MC.

    Now to the others:
Hakari is also fighting Uraume now and will probably get more shine through that fight soon. Kashimo was basically a villain just as much as ryu or yorozu. They had some basic motivation that went with the theme of fullfilling their life, loneliness and why they took kenjakus offer, which sure not much but still not every character can get alot of screentime and it served its purpose because they were awesome villains.

I dunno seems to me more like youre either not caught up to the manga which sorry for the spoilers then I guess or youre really trying hard not to read. Maybe you will like them more in anime form because to me it actually seems like the quality is still there if not better than early jjk. (Sorry kyoto students but you are kinda mid)

"Higuruma is one of the few good culling game character that i like. his backstory was compelling to me and his fight with yuji was pretty creative and one of the best in this arc imo"

i dont think you actually read my post because what part of that is disrepecting him i literally said hes the only new character i like in this arc

  • Dec 30, 2023

i just made a one off comment to a post a few pages, i really didnt wanna engage in an argument honestly until you replied to said comment

maybe you think i dont like this series when that isnt the case. its one of my favorites from this gen and was a solid 8 for me from the beginning up until early culling games. if this arc ends bad itll at the very least be a 6-7 and ill still like it unless they pull some AOT tier nonsense

What chapter does this season leave off at? I might just pick up the manga during this break. I need to see Yuji's getback ASAP.

Just imagine you guys watching Luffy fight Kaido for 2 straight years going: „man has Oda forgotten about Chopper?!? 🤬“

Lmfaoooo its crazy how that joke comment from Gege suppodedly wanting to end it in 2023 got mfers in an actual rush and desperate, let Gege cook fr and its the fact that his main criticism is against Takaba who actually got some great devevolpment in his last fight

I understand his point still but the thing is that you are asking development for some characters that werent supposed to be important in the first place, you arent supposed to feel a lot of things if they die anyways, most are plot devices for our main cast and thats NOT supposed to be considered a bad thing imo and even then we got amazing culling games characters who developed in ways we couldnt imagine in such a short time so at least for me that arc is on par or at least 1 point below shibuya. One important thing too is that most people didnt experience Shibuya in a weekly format compared to the CG so a lot of people are low key biased to shibuya lmao but that re read for the CG to now hits different

I think I expected too much narratively from Gege tbh, maybe it’s a problem with me. But tbh with JJK0 and the first two seasons he showed he is capable. If culling games is the end game then I get why he’s doing what he’s doing but it’s left a lot to be desired.

It fits this arc, its all about battles. And is in his style, he did develop characters like Takaba, which is amazing.

The characters are fine but some of the stuff he set up earlier just feels inconsequential atm. No payoff

side characters are fine but its like throw me a bone man wheres the personality or charisma at

the first thing aoi todo did when he was introduced was ask megumi what type of women does he like and then proceeded to beat the s*** outta him. that left more of an impression on me than any of the culling game characters

obviously because he will show us what happened in those 2 months during the battle.

Like Yuta suddenly turning up to Kenjaku. Yujis powers will obviously be explained. We have had an entire yap chapter about if Higuramas ability will get him the executioners sword. And honestly I am glad gege did that. Imagine how boring the chapters would be with the characters training and preparing and we just get like 20 chapters of infodumps about new powers with the Sukuna Gojo fight dangling in front of our noses.

Idk man Kashimo straight up had the same kind of introduction plus he is full of personality, like look at this s***, he aint even ask questions 😭 his personality was fire which imo compensates for his "simple" (for lack of a better word rn) backstory and objective in life
