    Modulo #23

Chapter felt confusing AF at first glance but after sitting on it and thinking abt it for a few days it feels natural. I like the memes but I see a lot of ppl still being confused.

Maru apologizing to Dabura for interrupting his fight *again* is a key point. The circumstance between the first time and the second time he did it are the same. Two civilizations where diplomacy didn’t work and a duel to settle the differences. Only this time can Maru actually do something compared to the first time. So it narratively makes sense for Maru to apologize to Dabura and offer him the solution to his anguish that was the reason for him killing his best friend. Dabura also makes up for something he felt he lacked during the first duel: understanding what being a warrior entails. His story is dunzo, no need for anything else.

Maru now being in a position to do something with the realization of Tsurugi going for non-violence is honoring that decision. Maru also knows the burden of killing your best friend through Dabura and choose to go a different path.

That said I’m still on hold about some things and see how those get addressed.

Modulo isn’t about hype or aura. Unfortunately you have people who only care about spoonfed writing and fights. I know Gege will handle the potential last two chapters well. What I’m not in the mood for though is the discourse this week that sprung from leaks, and now carried over to the release. Idiots went on rants just from picture leaks alone and have no idea what is happening.

You right altho I hope yuji gets to just aurafarm vs Mahoraga next week. Because I think it would also effectively show once again why he didnt take part in the duel.

I dont want to powerscale but I believe in Yujis eyes if he fought he wouldve slaughtered dabura and enforced the will of the humans just like the rumelian tribe leader forced dabura to kill Dura. The 1v1 in its idea is very sukuna like. Basically whoever has power gets to decide. Yuji being once again the anti Sukuna rejects this.

Only thing is I think you meant to say is Maru instead of Cross, but exactly how I read it too.

I’m glad some truly read the story. It’s a delight to see seriously.

Tbh that might happen still though, the ritual was voided but we don’t know if 10 shadows was dispelled. Yuji ending him wouldn’t be a problem at all lmao hmm we still need that Megumi mention too

  • I just think if you are a fair critic, don’t judge until the next two chapters

Yall don’t even know wtf happened and jumped to conclusions. The chapter did not state anything happened. This is a lot of visual storytelling which in next chapter will make sense. The latter half of the chapter is set up for next. The first halve was the conclusion pertaining to last chapter’s cliffhanger. Everyone is mad at the latter half and don’t even know wtf really happened. So wait next chapter before you accuse s*** of anything.

The break neck change in mood and tone is a valid critique. Hopefully Gege lands this 360 flip from the top in one piece. I do love the bit about interrupting the fight yet again

As much as I stan the vision of modulo you can critique the way he did it for sure feel the same for the OG.

resolving a conflict this grand with insane magic when in the real world we are still decades if not centuries from solving it feels too easy but thats obviously dependent on how he really concludes the story now lol. Honestly I highly doubt we get that disney ending.

Yuji having to live forever is already bittersweet

Yeah I agree, it’s confusing which is why the next chapter for me lets me know better how I should feel. But after rereading it I feel this all set up for something. Because:

1\. I don’t think Yuji is just going to live 300 more years. I find that tragic but wrong to do to end his story.

2\. Iori’s b\*\*\*\*ass to me is being held for the plot twist. He wouldn’t advocate for the next generations becoming weaker because they lose CE, since he went mentally ill about it for his own. And we still have no idea what he did to Yuka and Tsurugi. He feels like the antithesis to the whole plan

3\. Yuka for sure still has cancer. What I believe we see Maru interacting with at the end is their souls.

So my thought is we can’t say what is really going on until next chapter

Ty for that correction. The audience is primed for punching and kicking and I can’t blame them. But we’re not punching and kickin out of this, we’re breaking cycles

Welcome brother. As much as I love JJK and will admit I am the biggest glazer, and love the action, I just want it to have a solid ending. I don’t need anymore story after Modulo (though it would be nice to get either the Heian era flash back or Kyoto supernatural resolution as a short form manga), I just want my favorite modern manga to be sent off with a standing ovation. Gege is a phenomenal writer, despite how this concludes, modulo had a very powerful message.

I feel like the sake of spin offs or whatever with the IP, the obvious route is this goes wrong and instead spreads cursed energy to the whole planet. Considering the plan itself is kinda moot because it isn't indefinite and that therefore makes it kinda stupid. Granted Yuji claimed he could develop ways for people to fight or defends themselves in the time span so who knows

Also cant forget Ui ui and Iori. There seems to be a big part behind the scenes wanting something like the Heian to return.

But maybe thats just gege leaving some doors open for a potential sequel

The only thing which makes me think Gege won’t go balls off the wall with it is JJK’s ending and how it is was so tamed though there was a million things that could’ve gone wrong lol we will just have to wait and see, but Gege has all the receipts in order for a merger type devastation to occur, and Yuji then having to sacrifice himself and die. Or we do get the 300 years of him :/

  • Ppl kept (wrongly) saying Gege hated Gojo. Nah that mf hates Megumi

  • Niggas who hate on JJK are weird mofos

The culling game JUST started. How fast did you want the craziest s*** to happen? Beginning of the season? lol (we’ve already had a crazy start)
