After catching up to this arc I honestly would have prefered if Gojo just stayed sealed and was released 1000 years later instead of be brought back to be mollywhopped. He essentially was already dead Yuji's arc at Shibuya
JJK is very good, but Gege is simply not touching Togashi as a writer. Not even remotely close.

Wouldnt say one is better than the other.
Togashi writes less interesting characters to me tho.
Also their development is very slow if they have any at all. Not necessarily a bad thing also Gon gets his big character moment in chimera ant for sure but before but does that makw the 300 chapters of him being a blank slate any better?
Gege more fast paced, 2 sided and nuanced with his characters.

That is, for sure, a wild take. Togashi's characters are far more interesting, imo. How is, for example, Killua's development slow? It's very well fleshed out and beautifully done. Gon is a very interesting character too. Gon's "big moment" with Pitou only worked because of the previously established groundwork in regards to his characterization. It's far from superficial, and quite tragic. JJK villains also can't hold a candle to HxH villains.
Gege is Togashi's son, in a lot of way - some more obvious than others.
Edit: I still love JJK tho. The battles are very exciting, but as far as themes, HxH is much more poignant imo.

I mean tbf tho the true only villains of JJK are Kenjaku and Sukuna, the others are fodder mostly because Gojo exist
I agree for the most part but Sukuna is better than Meruem imo

Nah I fw you, but you're wildin if you think Sukuna is a more interesting villain than Meruem. Even his royal guards were more complex than Sukuna.

More complex doesn’t always equals better
Meruem was very complex, made sense, he was essentially a newborn absorbing knowledge
But in terms of what I find in a villain to be menacing, he didn’t really have it, he had the 1 main fight where he didn’t even have any signature moves
Chrollo on the other hand is HxH best villain imo

It's cool if yall just want villains to be overpowered psychos. But I usually prefer when they're a lil more complex.

Sukuna is well written, I mean he’s the king of curses, the ultimate evil, Yuji swallowed the figure and he came out and immediately said where are the women and children
I just like my villains to have no heart sometimes personally

Nah, I have to disagree. Meruem is immediately established as a menace. He kills one of his subordinates immediately after he's born. And that scene of him killing the little girl soon after was straight-up horrific. But Togashi actually did something interesting with him instead of making him a one dimensional "evil" mf. And he did it so naturally and beautifully.

Don't get me wrong, I like Sukuna. I'm just saying he, Kenjaku, Mahito, etc., are written more simplistically than Togashi's villains.

I mean sure but that slowly got written out of him lol
I love Meruem tho so don’t wanna seem like a hater and HxH as a whole is better than JJK by a solid margin and overall yea, all the villains in HxH are better for sure tho I like Sukuna more, his embodiment is perfect
One Piece is still peak Shonen tho
It's wild how much I know about One Piece without actually reading or watching it

It’s the best and I only started it about 3 years ago lol
Hey all I can ask is that Togashi and Oda fans respect Gege’s writing too. Like all said and done there was a new great this generation. Comparing don’t matter when you fans to all three
Alright 236 is ass. I'm late, but reading it all in a couple days at a decent pace makes that abrupt off screen death was complete ass lol. I bet it was really bad for people reading it week by week.

my theory is that gojos fight serves as a lesson about jujutsu for all the students who watched. He showed off a ton or concepts and techniques that the students can expand on. Domain barrier manipulation, restoring cursed technique. Counters to sukunas domain ect. I think his fight and death will be pivotal for the series
in theory if megumi survives and sukana leaves his body would he be left with a stronger Mahoraga? They said if a shikigami dies its power is inherited by the others and when the divine dogs died they fused to a stronger one. If gojo beat mahoraga and the fusion Agito then that's multiple shikigami who's power will be fused to the others

I get it’s controversial because of the space cut, and I understand the preference of wanting to see it happen but it was an intentional abrupt death to show how Gojo’s death happened so fast not realizing his infinity was bypassed and the viewer’s just got his POV. Secondly his character arc ended perfectly and also was a great moment for Sukuna. It was controversial for sure for how Gege executed it, but just read it again with Gojo’s conclusion in mind. It was not ass. Not to say you aren’t allowed to have gripes because such a decision was going to be polarizing, but Gege went for his vision and narratively it works and adds shock
One Piece is still peak Shonen tho
Nah jjk peak
