None of that s*** really matters as long as the music is good
Lol like what I look like going all deep in the credits looking for writers like its gonna change something
You're on a kanye west fan site owing 158 ppl you don't know based also on their fan dom for another artist, we are all passed the music just sounding good.
if any of yall ever got around editing for basically any published text you'd know that it is never-ever a one-man job. if youre a writer and you dont have an editor then people look at you funny. every newspaper has an editor/proofreader. you'll never write a good one on your own these days, and most writers (including goats) from a few hundred years ago definitely could've used some editing for their works. it varies for hip-hop but Cube mentions songwriting and all of the above applies just the same
that said, if you do have people giving you stuff then a) credit them properly b) dont run around talking about how you wrote all the bars. I think thats what people got a problem with
Terrible comparison lmao, go somewhere with your journalist ass
Terrible comparison lmao, go somewhere with your journalist ass
no surprise yall chasing your tail with these conversations then acting sad when you favorite rapper gets called out for the most standard writing-related practice out there
Once it’s about rap music and not straight up rapping and lyricism you might as well accept help. Most rap fans are fans of rap music more than they’re fans of rapping anyway. Them niggas can’t tell him nothing.
Nah, that's been debunked
I saw someone claiming that Wayne ghostwrote for Jay recently
Lu tweeted that he didn't write on it a couple years ago
Did he ever explain what he meant? Maybe he gave him throwaways that Jay didn't end up using?
We know Jay bought Renegade from Eminem for example and replaced Royce's verses with his own.
One of the beats on The Black Album was from a 1/15th affiliated producer, which leads me to believe Lupe was shopping demos/beats from his label
Idk I think writing your own s*** is important. But I care a lot about authenticity personally
With Cube it was way past his prime so not as big of a deal
It’s important if you claim/strive to be a top MC
Idc if Tyga has a ghostwriter

wtf the more you do research on wu-tang, the more bullshit will come out

This means nothing unless he didn’t write any or most of his music tbh
Every great rapper has had help on raps
Cube definitely didn’t have a ghostwriter during his run
I believe he did start using one starting with Laugh Now, Cry Later which was his best album in quite some time. Would make sense cause he started doing way more movies at that point so writing raps and music in general might not have been his biggest priority
the more prolific artists have help, big-time artists who are responsible for a lot of output, features, and who also have other business interests to cater to.
also artists who just are more collaborative, who move as or with a collective, e.g. wu-tang, NWA, etc. just for obvious reasons.
Cube wrote a lot on SOC and Eazy Duz It. And at least 98% of his first 3-4 albums. That alone is enough to go down in the top 5 imo.
as cyhi said once you prove your worth as a writer it doesnt matter if you work with writers to make cohesive songs later in your career. Especially when you're now a business owner with a family and an actor on the side like most rappers
a lot of rappers that have writers were writers too at one point, like drake ross or ice cube, it's not about finding who's the fraud.

one man jobs in art and creative fields are glorified for no reason tbh, it's unhealthy
wtf the more you do research on wu-tang, the more bullshit will come out
A lot of ogs used to get help they just got quiet camps
Like I said, it's common for rappers in groups and I guarantee you there's been more verses written than they would admit because like Cube said, b-boying has a different essence.
lol Jay Z wrote Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg's verses on Still D.R.E.
no one is above having ghostwriters
