It happens. Just apologize if they're offended by it. You're bound to misgender someone a few times accidentally, just gotta work on it til saying their preferred pronouns comes naturally. Most people who go by different pronouns acknowledge people will unintentionally misgender them and not be super pissed off by it contrary to what the internet might tell you. So long as you are genuinely active in getting their pronouns right they'll be patient with you and also correct you
if they're non binary is has nothing to do with cancel culture it has to do with being a decent human being
