i wouldn't say it's even necessarily a mistake BUT it does depend on who you are talking to so it's worth clarifying. i know some trans women who don't mind if man is thrown around as a filler word like dude or w/e, but i also know some who have said that it legitimately bothers them
good point
There's a transgender woman that I work with. We talk all the time and I've accidently said 'man' like three times and she's never said anything or appeared to be bothered about it. It's a mistake but not that deep
do you say like
“Man, this s*** sucks”
Or
“Cmon man let’s go”
if they're non binary is has nothing to do with cancel culture it has to do with being a decent human being
Imagine caring
No, this isn’t the product of cancel culture. It’s quite the opposite. Y’all niggas fabricate these experiences to make it seem like if you misgender someone they’re gonna freak out and s***, when that’s hardly ever the case.
But yeah nah “cancel culture bad” is much easier to run with and perpetuate
just apologize if they correct you. it's okay OP. not like you're gonna get killed.
but, I think saying "how's it going, man?" is pretty gender-neutral all things considered. I would never ever say "what's up, woman?"

No dude you don’t get it. Every single person who is non-binary is just WAITING until you slip up so they can f***ing murder you like conservatives love to claim.
OP messed up and feels bad and somehow that’s the fault of the person
Literally no one in the wrong here but people are like “man this is what cancel culture does ” it’s so funny to me

exactly. folks are talking about "heavy guilt" and "cancel culture". op just made a simple mistake that could easily be rectified and everyone would move forward with their lives.
I bet these guys would feel embarrassed and guilty out of their minds if they called someone the wrong name for example, but when it's dealing with gender identity, well now you're a PC maniac and oh my god the folly of cancel culture

OP litteraly being a good person and people tryna twist this as some cancel culture effect s***
I hate whenever that happens but it’s better to just correct yourself then make a big deal of it

Yeah we're f***ed
OP is just being considerate and you guys are shaming him
Thread proves alot of ppl are complete trash human beings, but don't show it coz they are afraid they'll get "cancelled". Lol
Apparently the only reason you would feel bad about misgendering somebody, is the risk you might get "cancelled".
Some dumbass MFs.

Lol it’s crazy because my mind went exactly to the name thing.
My name irl not only is a “girls name” but also isn’t spelled like it either. People f*** it up all the time and most of the time I don’t even bother correcting because I recognize it’s confusing. Obviously anecdotal and isn’t totally comparable because gender has way more social implications than saying someone saying a name wrong.
Of course, some people really are going to react differently to someone mispronunciation get their name and some people are gonna react totally unreasonable but the VAST majority of people will lightly correct you and say that they understand why or that it’s not a big deal.
It’s the exact same s*** as people who use other pronouns. Really not that big of a deal unless you’re being an a****** like Ben Shapiro and intentionally misgendering and dead naming people.
