Yeah it’s stock plus salary. But you get stock every year and you can use/sell it after 9 months. Unlike a lot of FAANG companies where you have to wait 4 years before you can sell stock
this gotta be a fortune 250 joint easy
The startup space is a f***ing simulation lmao
Congrats though, OP. If the money’s flying like that it’s good to at least see it go to a hard worker for once unlike the last few places I worked at
why don't you have friends or family to tell this too
I did I just wanted to share here to let you guys know what was possible and actually help if anyone is seriously considering making the switch. I didn’t know it was possible nor did I have anyone to help and then process was way harder than it should have been
Previously was making 72k and 5k bonus but didn’t get bonus this year
You really said “yeah 72k is nice but if I don’t get that 5k bonus again I’m outta here”
Is OP capitalism’s biggest bully?

But seriously, what do your skills actually involve aside from the name of the field? I tried learning code but got totally filtered by JavaScript.
F*** I need to move into tech
Be wary cause it's not for the faint of heart
You gotta be prepared to study a lot and put up with a lot of bullshit throughout the way
50-60. It’s a senior role.
Previously as Senor a***yst was working 60-70 at times (startup culture is tough) so this is less time than I was working before
Work about 10 hours a week as a SWE. Not including meetings that are spent browsing YouTube KTT and Reddit.
Any way to delegate on the job and not work so many hours?

Ehh. Not any worse than any other field. I work in tech too for a boomer company.
What’s your degree and did networking help you get that job offer?
Y’all don’t read s***
The no degree part was tricky. So for me, the big thing was just getting in the door. When I was looking for my first job, it was extremely difficult with no degree. I think the key is if you can find an entry level position at a startup that is promising
Startup cared less about my credentials and also as the startup grew, I was in a position to rise the rankings. Once I got my first experience and some promotions, it was way easier cause I had experience + portfolio
Man all these companies require experience for entry level roles
Title is it. Just started a new job and wanting to share learnings and tips. AMA
What’s the split? How much is cash vs stock? And public company or banking on an ipo?
OP you aren’t scared that you can easily be replaced with someone who has education & experience?
That would be my main concern if I got a high paying position with essentially no education and no long-term experience.

Might just do A web developer job then. Supposed to me much more stress free and have a better work life balance. You might get paid about 15k less though
