It is known Rih, Bey and Ye kept Hov more relevant over time

    Saved his career tho lol...

He helped all 3 of their careers become what it is

Niggas really act like it wasnt mutually beneficial

Like I feel like WTT was a definite stimulus boost into hovs career at that point his last album was looked to be a disappointment. Even though I enjoyed BP3 niggas thought he fell off then and when kingdom come dropped (AG was a diddy assisted temporary breath of fresh air) but after this we got MCGH and artsy fartsy hov no socks hov imma grow my hair hov

BP3 hate is a lil revisionist

At worst the album got some divided reviews but in real time that album was a SMASH. Big singles, and some of his best sales

I agree on a swag level Ye was tryna elevate Hov to some new s*** (didnt work imo that was an awkward ass era for Hov) but sales wise WTT was 2 giants coming together

I know u know that but niggas itt really acting like Hov wasnt a factor by WTT, this is what I was talking about with ye Stans the other day

Who came up for the concept of DOA, quickly?!

And that wasn't even a year prior, it was 2 years prior. I love how you left our Run This Town, the biggest song off BP3 that actually won accolades. I wonder why you conveniently did that

    Bro TALK FACTS

run this town is NOT bigger than empire state of mind

This is s*** u can google yall just on here lying lmao

Saying Kanye saved Jay after BP3 sales wise is equal to a nigga saying a nigga saved Drake after a divisive album

Like bro didnt give a f*** about reviews niggas went gold in 7 days who needs saving but these niggas dont know know they was in Europe in 2009

But facts BP3 was the first Jay Z album i got on release day and i thought that s*** was crazy used to listen to it literally every day

well yea if you omit one of his three albums of the decade, yes its not very eventful. last time i checked tho 444 was the highlight of his work that decade and kanye didnt have anything to do with it

I preface this with neither of them “saved” each other but my point is that Kanye did not need WTT at all, he was in his prime coming off of his most acclaimed album & would have certainly put those materials towards his next solo lol

Kanye outsold HIS contemporary in his prime. When has Jay Z ever been the biggest rapper on the planet at his peak. Speak quickly my nigga

Okay so Jay Z had a harder contemporary than Kanye then

You acting like Jay Z not outdoing Eminem makes him a bum but NOBODY outdid Eminem so everybody bums

  • He just elongated his career moreso in the mid to late 2000s through 2011 imo. Hov tapped into the “indie” aesthetics after he saw Ye do it. This could actually be argued for why Hov lowkey fell off artistically around this time. He was trying mad hard to be indie but it didn’t work very well. BP3 might as well be a Ye album with the style Hov was going for.

He finally got back to being him after the Ye fall out and 4:44 onward.

    Thats a fact

If you wanna say Kanye was the biggest rapper during Grad era then you can but Lil Wayne def outsold Kanye first week less than a year after Grad and Kanye never outdid that if we talk his contemporaries. Kanye got outsold in the 2010s by Drake and Eminem the whole time too

You still aint mentioned when Jay Z was ever the consensus global superstar in the rap game. He was always under someone despite being in multiple eras of Hip Hop. Yall keep bringing up Empire State of Mind, by that time Kanye was already a WAY bigger name than Jay Z by the time he finally had global commercial hit nearly 13 years into his career.

    Nigga so what!!’

Lil Wayne outsold him as a rapper . In what world does producing 2 songs that werent even singles on a 16 song album make u one of the main producer on album. Lil Wayne woulda still did the same numbers without having Ye on the album

I never once said he saved Jays career, all I stated was by 2005-2007, Kanye was already a global superstar compared to Jay Z and any collaboration they had from that point on benefitted Jay Z more than Kanye.

Thats what the whole thread is about why would you need to specifically say it

The thread isnt about is Jay Z bigger than Kanye or was Jay Z the #1 rapper

This thread is about Kanye saving Jay Z career. He didn’t

Thats a fact and thats my only argument if u don’t disagree with that then we dont disagree
