Kanye is not a leader in the since were he’s going to go around and ask everybody what there issues are and then go fight for them. Kanye only work through his life experience “if I’m going through this, someone else is probably going through it too” so let me fight this fight and if I win we all win too

its really this simple. dont get whats so complicated

nothing anyone here is saying about Ye is new info but this point always been the drive.

even something as simple as his fight for a fashion brand was for him, but ended up being an artist fight that has opened up the spectrum for more like Rihanna (example) to shine without issue.

Man said racism didn’t bother him on SNL (i think last year or two years ago) why’s he bringing it up now?

Even if you’re wealthy and black you’re still affected so I don’t understand why people have been giving him this pass.

I don’t need someone who will tell me racism doesn’t bother me then start talking about it’s affects when it bothers them. You can’t see how selfish that is?

It’s not fair on many Black people because he has spent so long validating racists and weirdos like Candace Owens

Nicki minaj was on those vibes too when everytime she doesn't win its because she's a black woman
But then turned around and did this...

These celebs are out of touch and about themselves first and foremost, it's weird how unaware they are about it too...

Racism isn’t some rare phenomenon that occurs once in a blue moon.

It literally doesn’t make sense to denounce something that would affect him, people like Candace Owens like it or not even if you’re wealthy, republican or a patriot you’ll still be affected by systemic racism.

Denying this then saying that white supremacism is stopping you is hypocritical because majority of black Kanye stans were the first to say that he’s a victim of this corrupt system.

I’m not really surprised because celebrities and wealthy people are incredibly out of touch.

    Mr Motion

What artist ever speaks up about anything that hasn't affected them?

This isn’t my point...my point is about not being a hypocrite and denouncing something that doesn’t bother him when he has already said it has bothered him and now he brings it up again.

Flip flopping with such a serious issue can’t be defended I’m sorry.

this is true, but it's also probably true for most people or at least most artists.

if him talking about an issue that effects him helps other people tho, then it's a good thing.

there are some tbf, but it's rare. it would be better if there was more, could help create sympathy between more causes.

artists who usually speak up about an issue from a non-personal perspective get way more attacked tho, so i get why people don't do it. for some artists, it probably made them less successful

isn't ye being a hypocrite part of why people always liked him? celebrities were always trying to say the right thing or put across one version of themselves.

ye was just as much of a hypocrite as the average person, if you listen to his early verses he's pretty proud about it and it always talking about how much of a contradiction he is.

I think for me I never really felt much of a way about his hypocrisy. I knew it existed but racism is a serious issue for me so I can’t accept a huge figure with a huge following saying stuff like this.

racism should be a serious issue for everyone. but this specific issue is very complicated, one of the main links ye posted quoted a lot of white artists along with black artists too (including Morrissey who is an actual racist). maybe he thinks it's a race issue cos of how much black culture has been taken from or maybe he just thinks the labels screw all artists.

but imo most of the narratives we see about racism in the mainstream and i hear from most people are self centred in one way or another anyway.

i think that just might be how most people process big ideas. but with ye his experiences are way more unique than the average person so it comes off as more self centred when it's probably pretty normal to see big concepts through your own experiences tbh.

if you look at kanye as a social leader then i can see why you'd be disappointed, but i don't like at him like a chuck d or killer mike let alone a great social leader or activist.

I don’t really look at Kanye as any kind of leader or social activist but it’s disappointing because Kanye is my #1 artist and I grew up on his music. Imagine from a young age and with his messages way would happen

i get that. he played up to it sometimes but tbh i don't think people should have invested in him for that.

there's not many artists i could be disappointed in. if i was expecting that from Ye i would have been disappointed a long time ago. if he does something good that's great, but he's always seemed lost in his work and what he's got going on. that's probably why his work was so good tho, so can't complain

F*** a butt pick your leader..a racist. A racist. Or Kanye a person willing to try to ch a nge the way the world work. .... write in your vote and we can make a difference. F*** winning... they keep lying to us
