I am with you, OP. I def felt the same. But its also normal to stand for issues when they start to affect yourself. A lot of times i don't get how severe an issue is before i feel it myself. Doesn't discredit the whole intention tho.

I hate when he does something pretending it’s for the sake of everyone else. He is so incredibly selfish, the only times (in recent years) he’s brought up racism, white supremacism etc has been when it has directly affected him.

After spending the past few years twerking for Trump and others and pretending that white supremacism & racism barely exists he’s brought it up once again.

Stans will argue it’s just him fighting for everyone but I won’t be so blind. A lot of the white people here will be capping so I’m not bothered.

Go back and listen to the College Dropout. He talks about race back then.... in fact, many argue that ye was the most woke then. Miss all us with that "ye selfish" BS

I agree with most of your post but even so, being apathetic about racism especially as a wealthy black man it nullifies a lot of your points.

As you said he’s mentioned a lot of those other things but if he isn’t bothered then why does he feel the need to be angry and go on a tangent about white supremacy?

I’m not saying it’s bad but it should come from a more genuine place.

I personally think if the fashion world was more open to him then Yeezus would have gone a lot more differently.

Yeah and if his Mom didn't die we wouldn't have gotten 808s.... so what? Don't nobody know what your over all point is..

    he actually did

he was always fighting for aoty instead of raoty

  • Sep 19, 2020

Yea the only time he brings up white supremacy or racism is if it’s related to him...like that “Black Boards Matter” tweet.

But AS SOON as someone mentions Trump and all the BS racist s*** he has done, he doesn’t care or tries to change the subject. I hate that s*** lol stop picking and choosing when it’s convenient for you to care about black people.

    BIG STEPPER Ab

this is somewhat true and annoys me to no end

it would be better if he either spoke up for us more often and not just when it benefits him, or just stopped pulling the race card altogether

cause according to his own words, racism isn't a deal breaker

    #freeYe

LITERALLY HIS OWN WORDS lmao like that’s why it’s hard to take his recent rants serious

I know he has good intentions but he gotta be consistent.

    uhh

OP you're dead on and don't listen to any of the ye simps on here who try to argue with you. they're a lost cause

i love ye but his inconsistency around this stuff is crazy disappointing. i hope he can eventually realize this.

I just need him to keep this same energy for Trump criticism....Even Nick Cannon couldn’t get him to stop kissing ass for one second.

    “Trump isn’t a good President, I mean that’s why you’re running right?”

Kanye: dodges question and brings up something completely irrelevant

Except I’ve already explained multiple times why it’s more than that

Especially with an issue so important as race. You can’t compare it at all because Kanye has definitely been a victim of racism and white supremacism.

It’s not like he just recently started experiencing it. I am highlighting the hypocrisy.

  • Sep 19, 2020

Exactly, like in 2013 when he was on his whole “classism is the new racism” s*** bc he wasnt being accepted by those fashion elites

“I personally think if the fashion world was more open to him then Yeezus would have gone a lot more differently.”

    This you right?

The comparison in my reply to 808s is to prove that the “if that never happened then this would be different” has no merit.

It happened the way it happened. Same with 808s, same with Taylor and Fantasy, same with Yandhi-TMZ-Uganda-Ye.

This post has no merit. You’re arguing that Kanye is selfish because he speaks up for things in the system that f*** with us?

You don’t sit back and look at the bigger picture? Yeah he could sit and talk about race all day every day but then his message would lose it’s potency over time.

Kanye is obviously playing the long game. He would never be where he is as quickly as he is. He’d eventually get his supply chain set up but he’s able to go all out now and flex and talk his s*** because he played the system, he IS a billionaire and he doesn’t have to take s*** from anyone anymore.

He was broke on Pablo and backed off. He has leverage now beyond his past. He has a future he’s working toward but dumb ass threads like this are just chatty patty ass threads that deviate and diminish Ye’s over all goal of making long term change.

Btw: he almost destroyed his whole f***ing career because he stood up for Beyoncé and the way awards shows are a popularity contest that white America decides. Selfless maybe, but not selfish.

Again, you’re absolutely missing the point completely in order to defend Kanye.

The point is, Kanye is a hypocrite and selfish. IN RECENT TIMES, he has been speaking about racial injustice instead he has been pretending as if it’s not a problem. Associating with people like Candace Owens and others denouncing that systemic racism doesn’t exist. Kanye himself saying that he isn’t bothered by racism. He uses people, he uses movements.

Now he finds himself in some trouble he’s talking about systems that oppress and that is hypocritical because he spent more than a year associating with those that deny it.

It’s worse because he has experienced systemic racism himself so it’s not a one time phenomenon that he is only now experiencing as others have suggested.

He mentioned it on Yeezus and once again, my example of what if is completely unique to this situation because it is about racism and the main reason Kanye was so vocal about it on that album was because he knew the fashion industry is racist.

But it doesn’t make sense for him to make the messages on that album then the next few years talking about black republicans and the other nonsense.

That’s just gonna have the be an agreed to disagree from me. None of us know everything this man has gone through, and the little we do know is that he’s been manipulated by the Democratic Party (been used to their advantage, rallies/fundraisers, etc. only to be rejected and s*** on later).

The intersectionality between race and poverty Is real. Ye knows empowerment comes from taking your power back. He chose to go the economic freedom route. He can leverage the worth of yeezy to pretty much get whatever he needs. He’s good for the credit so to speak.

Again, he also talks about different types of slavery such as economic slavery, consumer slavery, slaves to social media... he’s touching on universal big picture s*** in addition to talking about race throughout his career.

What the f*** about any of that makes him a hypocrite? His MO is always doing what he believes is right and will make a positive impact over time. He is growing and changing all the time and people just want to keep talking about the past all the f***ing time.

Sorry this is cap. We know some of Kanye’s experiences through his music. He is aware of racism, it’s not a new thing he just discovered.

To many black people racism comes first then classism, I don’t know why you keep trying to change the topic but as a black man I’m ONLY talking about racism. You must be white to do this.

    Let me repeat:

Kanye went from speaking up on racial issues to not as much until he started making more moves in the fashion industry. He was hit with classism and racism. It’s funny because after that he stopped talking about racism and started denouncing systemic racism hanging out with those that do. Now he’s back on it.

It’s not that difficult to understand.

Again agree to disagree on it being cap. Real change requires strong economic support and an acknowledgement of a class system. You can’t take something apart if you don’t see it. And it’s very much in fashion to support social issues these days, but people still want to ignore wealth inequality, which is caused by not being educated on assets, liabilities, passive income, and economic freedom. Your view is one dimensional and you’re not looking at the bigger picture. Nothing about that or what I’ve previously said has a single thing to do with being ignorant about racial inequalities and anyone who tells you that race and class are zero sum only wants you to focus on one or the other

It might just be but this the typa s*** that robs from the conversation, when things gets addressed or not people will still complain, questions and doubt, that loop has been going on for so long and what has that achieved actually? I'm not about that type of energy no more this thread is the actual thief
