he's very evidently more invested in fashion, archetecture and politics than music right now. He should take a hiatus until he feels inspired again, somebody needs to tell him that
But then again, 'I don't take advice from people less successful than me'

the way he talked about music in the JRE interview a few times makes me think he prolly wont return to being very engrossed in music like he was in the past again
he sez it doesn't make him money compared to his other ventures n i think he's invested in other ventures partially cus they're gonna give him more capital but also cus they're more likely to bring about the change he wants to see. music has this kinda allure as if it can change things, but i dunno if it'll ever be as impactful as the sociopolitical construction s*** he's trying to make these days
Flow trash, delivery trash, his whole effort is bullshit. Either put some time into your craft again, or f*** off trying to reimagine bowls or whatever else he does right now
Did he write it?
there are multiple writers based on the tidal credits
not sure if that's related to the sample or actual writers
still, his vocal performance and flow is one of my favorites in a while

Yes thats been his best rapping performance in a minute
It’s an intentional creative decision like everything Ye does.
Mysterious are the ways of Ye. Time will give us the answer.
He has no unique flow or charisma anymore. He literally just sounds like he’s yelling on the mic on 90% of his verses since Post Yeezus/TLOP.
He was never a great “lyricists” but his flow/charisma is what made his rapping enjoyable.
I don’t think it’s his flow I think it’s his voice or the mixing
He needs to go back to his WTT, Graduation, or Cruel Summer flow/voice
I hate his yelling flow cuz it sounds too “try hard”.
The swagger flow from WTT or CS, or the smooth Mase flow is where he’s at his best.
Reborn was one of the few times he found that pocket again recently.
His flow now sounds like he’s drunk and slurring his way through the song.
LOL It’s like what he said on Drunk & Hot Girls
“Ahhshdjdnrnfjm Ahhshdj ahhjajrrrr that’s how the f*** you sound”
his flow on follow god is godly though
Rare moments of Ye sounding like he knows how to f***in rap...
Just need some consistency.

Agree, especially about the vocal performance.
One of the few moments where you can feel his mic presence and overall confidence.

Maybe Hov should tell him

Ye was def a great lyricist. Just listen to CD, LR and MBDTF

He doesn't really try to rap well on anything other than hip hop/soul beats now tbh

You can be a great rapper without being a great lyricists, you know that right? Lol and that’s not a slight to Kanye at all
Because there’s so many elements to be being a great rapper. Even though he’ll have moments where he could “hold his own”, he was never consistently rapping on the level of Nas, Hov, Em, Black Thought, etc. Even he has admitted that in plenty of interviews. He just had the best production, best content and best albums back then which always made up for it...back then. Now? not so much lol
