The production obviously. Reborn literally sounds straight out of MOTM1. Both Cudi Montage and Free both have that rock edge that’s a Cudi characteristic, not Ye. Ye doesn’t even rap on the first track.

My original statement was not meant to discredit Ye’s contribution. But if you compare the effort on Ye’s part between Ye and KSG, it’s a night and day difference. Cudi steering the ship helped put Ye in focus.

“Cudi steering the ship” you talking about an album where Kanye West is the lead artist. For the Wyoming project as well. The same project where he told Pusha and Teyana “fuck them beats I got yall” and they were basically forced into being ok with it.

I’m pretty sure KSG isn’t the singular project Ye decided to let someone else take the lead man.

Sounds like a silly excuse. KSG just has better production and is the better album that’s it. No need to discredit Ye cuz he made something good post-2016 😂😂

Kanye’s flow and delivery for the last few years is legitimately a contender for the worst of all time. I’ve never heard worse or even half as bad at a mainstream level

Nah, guarantee it took him at least 25 takes to do the KSG verse. Dude sounded like he was running a marathon while rapping.

Yeah you right. For the first 5 albums it was probably heavily punched in, didn’t think of that

I hate when people who don’t rap talk about flows. 75% don’t even be talking about flow but delivery and the other 25% has bad taste and has like 2 or 3 flows they heard in their childhood that they think can’t be topped

How you gonna talk about “2 or 3 flows” when Kanye is still using the same 2012 trap flow on any beat with a trap pattern or tempo?

Yes a ton of people misuse flow and delivery but check yourself and don’t project other people onto me. I was on forums in 2007 correcting people about what flow was and been rapping since before that. Believe me I know very well the difference. Kanye is HORRIBLE at both at this point. NMPILA is an example of a song where he f***s up the flow pretty badly and noticeably, but a lot of times when you’re f***ing up the flow you also f*** up delivery because you’re out of breath so both suffer. That’s usually what Kanye sounds like, out of breath screaming and trying to fit too many words in a flow or bar when he falls behind.

I’ll agree that his delivery is the worst thing about his rapping but he also loses the flow a lot

Wash us in the blood and Selah both have the same Cruel Summer ass flow. S*** is sad at this point

I mention those 2-3 because the traditional approach to flow is what you’re talking about. No More Parties In LA is still a good song the only bad part is when he starts talking about the kid driving off the interatate or some s***. Flowing is basically using the voice as a drum so if it still works musically in the end you didn’t lose it. It only turns into that losing the flow s*** when it completely ruins the song but the only misstep in that song is the content. Running out of breath can add charm to the vocal rhythm. And it’s definitely more of a take on the trap flow since that relied more on being crisp as you went into the next line and he definitely doesn’t do that. Calling it the worst flow ever is a reach though. There are definitely truly bad flows and then there are flows that are straight up copies of others that imo is even worse than having a bad one that’s your own. I just think there are waaaay bigger problems in the current state of rap when it comes to flows that get a pass but this is what we’re talking about

I mean, I feel you but I personally think that nailing an unoriginal or even bad flow>>>>>> attempting a good flow and messing it up. For me Kanye’s flow on NMPILA completely ruins the rhythm and there’s multiple other tracks where he does s*** like that which isn’t rhythmic at all. It’s subjective whether or not it “still works” but Kanye sounds like he is scrambling on that verse. To me it sounds like someone in the studio recording the 34th take of their verse and at the end they listen to it and just say “I said all the words, I been in here forever, f*** it it’s good enough”

There is no problem in current rap worse than Kanye’s flow and delivery imho. Say what you want about the kids but they never sound this unnatural and unmusical.

Now this I can take serious. I disagree but I can take it serious. If all discussions about flow were like this it’d be cool
