Jimmy cooks is going #1. He and everyone else knows that 14 Jimmy cooks and an actual rollout is pushing this to at least 500k.
This album IMO was about honoring his new deal and getting some new music out into some spaces that he previously didn’t have music in

I think the flop should have been expected though, and it’s not really indicative of anything other than “you can’t drop a surprise album and the album be a different whole genre and expect to break 600K like you always do”

Folklore came out in 2020, 2 pandemic years ago and her records were still playlisted and digested in the same spaces.
I literally grabbed august, 7, mirrorball, illicit affairs etc from the same places I frequent for all of Taylor’s drops. I’m a fan
