Streaming in the US peaked in 2018 but yeah, now more than ever, it's definitely not as easy amassing streams as a rapper as it was from 2017-2019. Country has a chunk of the streaming pie now, same with pop and so as a rapper, to amass streams, people really have to tune in to your album and keep showing up to listen to it weeks after it drops for those numbers to be sustained.

Based on current predictions, it’ll have the biggest streaming week for a 12 track hip hop album ever. How convenient that the so-called “sales experts” in here suddenly forgot how streaming works.

The same clowns who have been making fun of other artists for padding their albums with old singles, bloat and mid week deluxes. The same clowns who have been finding a different excuse for every single Drake flop over the last 7 years. “Album full of leaks” “it’s a mixtape/playlist” “collab album” “surprise drop/no roll out” “not a hip hop album”. The list goes on.

The rules don’t suddenly change just because the artist you d***ride has been excommunicated to IG releases and xQc streams. Stop being delusional and take your 10th L of the year gracefully.

204k fw for a 14 track album from the (at the time) biggest rap artist in the world was a flop. And this was before sales were down across the board like you just stated in your previous post. Even so, if Kendrick does 200k, I’ll call it a flop too.

But let’s not pretend that song amount suddenly doesn’t matter for streaming numbers when that’s been the main way for artists to inflate their streaming numbers for years.

because it was a dance album. Beyonce literally just proved how much of a difference this makes too.

Renaissance 138k SEA (Dance album, 16 songs)
Cowboy Carter 232k SEA (Country album, 27 songs)

Past 20~ songs, the effect of extra songs doesn't help much, so I'm pretty sure a huge part of that difference was literally it being a genre that people actually enjoy.

It may have flopped because it was a dance album but it still flopped. It’s nobody’s fault that Drake released an album that people didn’t enjoy. It is what it is.

Glad you added that these are different days - GNX has Saturday/sunday (worst days of the streaming week) and is still holding up pretty well

One thing I haven’t seen anyone mention is that GNX has had better US numbers the last two days than FATD did (12 tracks vs. 23 tracks)

well BULLY's logic is it's Drake's fault he flopped, because he chose to release dance music.

Using that same logic, it's Kendrick's fault if he does less than 300k, because he could have done more by simply releasing more tracks

It's very stupid logic.

The reality is HNVM did very good numbers considering the type of music
and GMX is gonna do very good numbers with 12 tracks

No album under 16 tracks has ever debuted with 350+ million streams first week.

Nobody is coping, but anybody with two brain cells knew that this album was not going over 400K with only 12 songs.
