Streaming in the US peaked in 2018 but yeah, now more than ever, it's definitely not as easy amassing streams as a rapper as it was from 2017-2019. Country has a chunk of the streaming pie now, same with pop and so as a rapper, to amass streams, people really have to tune in to your album and keep showing up to listen to it weeks after it drops for those numbers to be sustained.
its weird because even country is showing signs of struggling, zach bryan's new album a few months ago basically flopped first week. 127k streaming units with 19 tracks. His self titled a year prior did 181k streaming units with 16 tracks
Same with pop, like Olivia's 2nd album did way less than her 1st album. Its like artists are peaking far easier than ever before, then struggle hitting the same heights again
You're being too loud.
Same ones who swore that whatever album he dropped after the beef would do massive numbers because he had all the momentum and all the eyes on him after the beef are the same ones coming up with every excuse in the book as to why the album might not outstream Mr. Morale afterall
Based on current predictions, it’ll have the biggest streaming week for a 12 track hip hop album ever. How convenient that the so-called “sales experts” in here suddenly forgot how streaming works.
The same clowns who have been making fun of other artists for padding their albums with old singles, bloat and mid week deluxes. The same clowns who have been finding a different excuse for every single Drake flop over the last 7 years. “Album full of leaks” “it’s a mixtape/playlist” “collab album” “surprise drop/no roll out” “not a hip hop album”. The list goes on.
The rules don’t suddenly change just because the artist you d***ride has been excommunicated to IG releases and xQc streams. Stop being delusional and take your 10th L of the year gracefully.

very ironic considering you were one of the people s***ting on HNVM numbers lol. Just admit you're biased man, it's fine. what you're saying is correct, but you can't pick and choose what the logic applies to

204k fw for a 14 track album from the (at the time) biggest rap artist in the world was a flop. And this was before sales were down across the board like you just stated in your previous post. Even so, if Kendrick does 200k, I’ll call it a flop too.
But let’s not pretend that song amount suddenly doesn’t matter for streaming numbers when that’s been the main way for artists to inflate their streaming numbers for years.

because it was a dance album. Beyonce literally just proved how much of a difference this makes too.
Renaissance 138k SEA (Dance album, 16 songs)
Cowboy Carter 232k SEA (Country album, 27 songs)
Past 20~ songs, the effect of extra songs doesn't help much, so I'm pretty sure a huge part of that difference was literally it being a genre that people actually enjoy.

It may have flopped because it was a dance album but it still flopped. It’s nobody’s fault that Drake released an album that people didn’t enjoy. It is what it is.

Right, just like if this Kendrick album does less than 300k, it's a flop, because Drake did 400k. It's nobody's fauult except Kendrick's that he only released 12 tracks

You’re just being disingenuous now. Now you can flop with songs that don’t exist.

lol his fault? you think his whole album drop was based on optimizing hitting 300k?
lol his fault? you think his whole album drop was based on optimizing hitting 300k?
well BULLY's logic is it's Drake's fault he flopped, because he chose to release dance music.
Using that same logic, it's Kendrick's fault if he does less than 300k, because he could have done more by simply releasing more tracks
It's very stupid logic.
The reality is HNVM did very good numbers considering the type of music
and GMX is gonna do very good numbers with 12 tracks
"it’ll have the biggest streaming week for a 12 track hip hop album ever. "

Hilarious stat
US Day 3
GMX 25.1m
Chromokopia 24.9m
US Day 2
GMX 37.5m
Chromokopia 34.4m
different days of the week so it's a bit unfair to GMX however, tomorrow GMX should outperform chromokopia's 4th day by a bit

Glad you added that these are different days - GNX has Saturday/sunday (worst days of the streaming week) and is still holding up pretty well
One thing I haven’t seen anyone mention is that GNX has had better US numbers the last two days than FATD did (12 tracks vs. 23 tracks)

Drake flopped for 14 songs. Kendrick will not flop for 12 songs. You want to cope and pretend there’s no difference between “type of music” and established streaming metrics, that’s on you.
US Day 3
GNX 25.1m
FATD 22.5m
US Day 2
GNX 37.5m
FATD 35.3m
interesting tbh, i didn't realise that
I guess Drake must be so much bigger than everyone else on AM and that's how he gets the extra streams
Potentially 160m less streams than FATD lol
what happened fader? you were one of the guys saying Kendrick grew a lot this year. You said this was gonna do potentially 400k from streaming a few days ago werent you?
You’re a dumb f***
1. FATD has an entire album’s worth of extra songs
2. I never said he was doing 400K through streaming only with 12 songs, my sales prediction is on the first page of the GNX Sales thread, I literally predict 325-350K through streaming only
"it’ll have the biggest streaming week for a 12 track hip hop album ever. "
kendrick stans are losing the plot
GNX is projected to do 350-400 million streams first week.
No album under 16 tracks has ever debuted with 350+ million streams first week.
Nobody is coping, but anybody with two brain cells knew that this album was not going over 400K with only 12 songs.
Go look at my prediction the literal day the album dropped

These niggas make every excuse for Drake every time he drops an underperforming project, but when Kendrick drops a 12 track album that’s performing better than any Drake project since CLB they wanna call it a flop

I don’t get why you replying to that weirdo. Mf not into music just obsessed with streams lol. Ain’t he the one who said he changed his avy cause Sabrina was popping on Spotify during the summer?
