    You should just stop talking.

Sales are much easier to fake hence BTS, K-Pop, Travis, and all these other ones who have gotten fake #1s by abusing sales.

Abusing streams requires much more people, resources, and planning

In other words, “all of these artists I don’t like or listen to did something and I don’t understand why so it’s all fake”

I never understood the appeal of digital albums that include 1/2 extra songs..

I’ll rather wait a couple hours or a day for someone to upload it, & then I have it uploaded to my local files.

Billboard: We are making new rules because there has without a doubt been fishy sales numbers

Fader: “and how do yall know these sales are suspicious?? Y’all swear everything is fake”

Literally never seen someone so unable to read a room

You don’t even realize that there are already filters and heavy regulation in place for these D2C sales is the funny part

Just ignorant and loud as always

The average listener is not that internet savvy.

  • Mafia Boss

They filter sales though from people who buy multiple times. They also spy on discord and filter sales. So idk how lil baby sales would be faked unless they just target certain people.

They have filtering rules in place but there can be loopholes/workarounds. Hence they have to update the filtering rules.

What is so hard to understand lmaooo

The reason that merch bundles was cracked down on is not because the sales were actually fake, it’s because labels were abusing the loophole to drastically boost sales numbers. The same thing is happening here.

YES THERE ARE FAKE PURCHASES AS THERE ARE FAKE STREAMS

But that is not the main reason these are being cracked down on

So you think Lil Baby’s team had the capability to fake a massive amount of pure sales and chose to cap themselves at… 50K?

Yes, they specifically did enough sales in which would get them a lead over Bad Bunny that week. It was a close race.

This is literally Billboard THEMSELVES saying there is frequently illegitimate data submitted. So frequently to the point they just are giving strikes when it’s done since it’s too normalized to take extreme action after just once or twice

Right, he got caught because he was slow enough to not even do the basic things that allow fake sales to pass their horrible filtering.

Just because he got caught doesn’t mean others weren’t able to create sales and get away with it

More money for the artist as long as people buy it

No, they have filtering in place which was questionable s***ty filtering (HENCE it being amended).

Some like French were too stupid in the ways they inflated sales and couldn’t pass filtering.

    Others were more smarter.

Your logic is like saying Walmart doesn’t have a theft issue “because they have security in place and catch people all the time”

of course this obsession with numbers and fake charts ends up resulting in a L for the consumers lmao

  • So are these Carti numbers final? No physicals/digital albums are gonna count like at all?

It’s funny how you just made all that up

  • “No listen! French Montana’s team was TOO STUPID but other artists have top secret highly intelligent super spies working for them to sneak in these fraudulent sales!! Trust me!!!”

  • Artists were abusing new loopholes found in the new set of rules. Simple as that.

The next set of loopholes will be found in the next few years, and in 5-6 years those loopholes will be amended with rule changes as well.

This s*** happens in sports all the time

french montana's fraudulent sales got caught because he sold $5 vinyls on his website and then, on the week of release, shipped random s*** to random addresses that didn't belong to the people who bought them. it was the dumbest form of scamming anyone could possibly imagine.

Interesting how this came after Drake was gaming the system with his $5 CDs.
