Sure she does too much with how many variants she makes available but the point can’t be avoided: her fans want to buy them. Cause at the end of the day, Taylor is checking off the three most fundamental boxes of albums that people actually want to listen to:

• personal lyrics
• a specific emotion that their albums maximize on for fans to get a fix of if they’re looking for said emotion for 40 mins-1 hour of listening
• visually driven (the album is a visual medium both literally and lyrically)

These other motherfuckers have

• mid visuals that don’t match the music in even the slightest regard
• impersonal lyrics
• no specific emotion that their albums maximize on for fans to get a fix of if they’re looking for said emotion for 40 mins-1 hour of listening - the emotions are all over the place so you can’t really get attached beyond the chance you like each song

For a medium that most people are already apathetic to, these two factors are make or break when it comes down to sales and having a fanbase that actually WANTS to buy albums.
