"before TPAB I feel like many black artists never really talked about their black identity before"
What the f*** are you talking about you stupid b****
amongst the mainstream?
before TPAB were artists like Beyonce, Jay, Drake and Rihanna centering their music around their identity like they do?
beat was wasted on Kendrick tbh
How when it's still out there in raw instrumental form and had been like 2 years before Kendrick even did anything with it
@op mom didn’t know what swallow was because this is the second dumbest comment I’ve seen from him.
@Teal_ @Goo @Sir_Swagalot @passing_the_time ready to derail another thread boys?

No idea. OP really put effort into his op though and I feel slightly bad that it fell so flat for him.
I don’t think he is baiting...

perplexing website
I can probably rap along to every verse on TPAB. Don’t tell me they don’t leave an impression.
outside of maybe like TPTB he's just kind of ...there. how many verses actually stick out and leave an impression? Everyone remembers "u" but despite the emotion the most memorable part is the housekeeping part
the album is carried by the production, Thundercat, Bilal, Anna Wise etc. The same can't be said for GKMC - there is no good kid without Kendrick. That's why it will go down as his peak as a 'rapper'.
Of course TPAB has an incredible legacy due to its wider context and developments in America - before TPAB I feel like many black artists never really talked about their black identity before? But purely in terms of the music it can't compare to GKMC.
Imagine For Free without Kendrick
