Isn’t capable? Lol I swear y’all say the dumbest s***.
Kendrick has had 2 concept albums and neither have a story that comes close to The Cool's. If he is capable he hasn't shown me any reason to believe he can do it.
Nobody is saying the album is bad, stop crying I love Kendrick and I just said TPAB is better than The Cool musically

Some would argue GKMC conceptually is better than the cool because it’s more relatable and easily digestible. But it’s all subjective. Kendrick hasn’t had to make the cool but yo say he can’t is asanine. Nas, Jay Z, Biggie and and Eminem hasn’t made an album conceptually like the cool would you say they are incapable?
nice to see someone rate damn. highly in regards to kendricks discog. i’d still rate tpab as his best but damn. a closer second than some ppl think imo
Yea damn is a classic in my eyes. I don’t get why people try to discredit it just because it has a more mainstream sound. Like he’s still rapping better than ever on it, and it’s cohesive from start to finish. What an album. Like tbh if I wanna revisit a Kendrick album from start to finish it’s probably gonna be DAMN
Lupe would’ve benefited from some better production
Imo he needed beats on the same level as his rapping
huh? the cool is one of the best produced albums of all time

I got that on T&Y
I think The Cool is better but as history goes on TPAB will be looked at in higher regard because Kendrick is a generational artist
well put
huh? the cool is one of the best produced albums of all time
Was never a huge fan of the production
Oh ok. I respect it, I disagree but I def respect it.
lol he's allowed his own personal preference...
If anything Tetsuo & Youth
T&Y and TPAB way more comparable imo. Both speak on black issues jn america. Both dropped in the same year. Both concept albums. Both underrated by the masses. Two great f***ing albums
Nah fasho
The style of the beats didn’t bother me though it was the execution
Lupe was def ahead of his time and was a big influence behind all the blog era rappers using electronic/rock type production. I just think the album could’ve been executed in a better way if he had top tier producers involved
Yeah forsure. Hi Definition and those exact beats u mentioned sound dated af.. And i love that album more than any kendrick record. Butterfly sounds timeless

TY is imo overrated by Lupe fans. I was itching like a fiend for that s*** but found it to be a medium ass record. Maybe I need to revisist

Did my response make it seem like he doesn’t?

I think it’s pretty great dude. It’s just different than a lot of his prior s***. More intricate lyricism and less “good songs.” If that makes sense. Songs like Mural and Deliver are standouts but they aren’t as good as like Kick, Push or Daydreamin if that makes sense.
I felt the same way the first few listens but I think listening to each “season” and treating that as it’s own individual project and seeing how the songs match the season makes it more enjoyable. Idk if that will help you but it helped me personally. S*** isn’t for everyone and I feel how you feel about it like I feel about DROGAS Wave

Yea like I said that was big part of the reason the album had to grow on me back then. Always knew it was fire though. It’s def one of my favorite albums ever
But Dot covered all basis man everything about TPAB was on point
