Ofc fam! I’m the co-writer and co-creator of the comic anthology. Me and a childhood buddy of mine always had this idea of a series where we’d just tell these crazy, off the wall stories about various phenomena and our interpretations of them. We started working with an editor and he pretty much schooled us on the craft.
As far as getting the book created, we went out and found an established artist who had previously drawn comics before. We lucked out because the dude we found does pencils, inks AND colors. Once he finished the interiors, we found our Letterer and Designer. Our Designer helped to create the title logo, interior credits, and other misc things (fun fact: his boss is Robert Kirkman lol he works for Image/Skybound). Once we had everything completed and scanned, we got the book printed through a company called Print Ninja. While all that was going on we launched a Kickstarter campaign to try and replenish some of the funds we put into this, but also to get the book out into people’s hands
Our next goal after launching Issue Two is to find a publisher who will take care of the printing and distribution for us, because doing that s*** on your own ain’t the business lol
Sorry I wrote a lot but hope this helps. Are you trying to make your own comic?

Hell yeah this was super helpful thanks
I’ve take a screen writing class and been getting into that but there’s this one idea I had that I think id like better as a graphic novel rather than a script
Was the editor who taught you guys the craft expensive?

Bro that’s so dope. Crazy enough, we actually studied screenplays in prep for writing comic scripts with how similar they are in structure, so that’s dope that you’re taking a class
Our editor started out as just strictly an editor, but he sorta took on the task showing us the ropes, which was cool of him. Pricing was super fair and well worth it. Though, each editor has their own style of writing they gravitate to and expect, and ours happens to be very action driven, and our style of writing is more on the dialogue-ish /narrative side, so we’ve had struggles. He taught us a lot but it’s just a matter of finding that editor that fits with you and the type of story you wanna tell.

That’s awesome man, must be a good feeling seeing your work as a completed issue. How descriptive do you have to get with action, character descriptions, and setting? How much of it is left up to the animators vision?
Also any scripts in particular you recommend studying?
Definitely gonna check out your comic

It really depends on your artist’s capabilities and also how much freedom you’re willing to give them. For us, we wanted our artist to take initiative to change things as he sees fit in order to elevate the story. Now obv we don’t allow for him to shake s*** up, but it’s really a preferential thing. I’d say the more information the better, but sometimes that could prove to be too constricting to an artist. If you have a very specific vision in your head of how you want a scene to look, then def lay it all out there so the end product can look close to what you envisioned
Man, I studied some of Alan Moore’s scripts which were just like super insane. Also looked at Grant Morrison’s and his too was almost overwhelming, but also genius at the same time.
I really enjoyed reading Tom King’s scripts. He’s like super simple, and allows for the artist to have a decent amt of freedom

Very nice
Looks like Lord of the Rings x Dark Souls in the aesthetic here
Hope it all goes well
