can you find the wolf in this picture

Wish he worked with another cinematographer
Why? 99.9% of cinematographers are s*** nowadays. Scorsese has one of the good ones

I do honestly think that his latest work has a kind of digital TV quality to it, especially in the skin tones, even though he likes to shoot on film as much as possible
The movies are incredible so it doesn't matter much, but, they're visually a little flatter than his work even from the 2000s, they're going for vastly different tones, but there's something weird and ghostly about his visual style and grading since around The Irishman that I'm not all-in on

I think the issue ultimately is moreso that the quality for digital has gone up so much that everything looks the same nowadays in film and tv. In the 2000s, tv still had a crappy digital look to it while film was film and looked magnificent
I think while shot composition has gotten clearer, it sacrifices style and color for clarity and that’s true for any film nowadays I feel. I feel only Fraser has shown he can do stylistically interesting things with the digital medium nowadays.

I think it looks great
Prieto shot Silence, put some respect on his name
Silence looks incredible, one of the most visually beautiful of Scorsese's career, I just think there's something a little 'prestige TV' about the look of his last two features, but again, I love The Irishman, it doesn't impact my enjoyment much at all, and the way the grading shifts over time is fantastic

i know what you mean. it seems like it's an industry wide phenomenon recently.
the texture of shots just feels different.

It really is extremely noticeable but I think this one looks better than the Irishman in that regard
