I do honestly think that his latest work has a kind of digital TV quality to it, especially in the skin tones, even though he likes to shoot on film as much as possible
The movies are incredible so it doesn't matter much, but, they're visually a little flatter than his work even from the 2000s, they're going for vastly different tones, but there's something weird and ghostly about his visual style and grading since around The Irishman that I'm not all-in on

Both frames are lit but the second one is lit better imo. No idea on the technicality of it so don’t really know how to explain it but yh lighting in film nowadays sucks. Think a lot of it is left to post production whereas that wasn’t the case like 30 years ago
Silence looks incredible, one of the most visually beautiful of Scorsese's career, I just think there's something a little 'prestige TV' about the look of his last two features, but again, I love The Irishman, it doesn't impact my enjoyment much at all, and the way the grading shifts over time is fantastic
Perhaps it’s the Netflix treatment of these productions. Snyder’s films also look way better shot compared to Army of the Dead
This does look beautifully shot in the trailer though
I watched the teaser multiple times just to feel something
peak to peak
the irishman out now! the wolf of Wall Street out now! silence out now!!

Scorsese's 2010s are better than his 1970s

Yea so far I’ve seen 5 films at the theater this year, and there are still like 8 movies I might end up going to the movies to see by the end of the year
Man, what a powerful trailer. Been on mind all day
Leo such a goat narrator too!
Few moments I picked up that got me even more hype for this.
Fraser and De Niro courtroom? scene
Leo and Jesse interrogation scene
That cinema scene
Also the opening shot was just incredible. Immidieately got Kubrick 2001 vibes
