For those that have seen it, which historical drama did you find more enjoyable? This film or Oppenheimer?
I liked Oppenheimer more personally Cillian Murphy makes it

Oppenheimer, but I’m bias since Nolan is my favorite director. I just feel like the story was told in a more profound way. Both great films though.

This. Don’t care for Oppenheimer much ngl, kudos to Cillian tho. But I enjoyed watching Leo as a bumbling murdering idiot more than anyone in Oppy’s 3 hours

There’s no after credit bullshit right
The Irishman says hello (in a meandering slog)
But maybe it’s due for a rewatch
First watch was iffy for me too but second was cataclysmic so do that before you put any more disrespect on it
The only one that stood out to me was one with Henry Roan
DeNiro seriously had like 4 or 5. One where he said the n-word and it was replaced with “negro”. And 2 times when he was speaking the Osage language
Leo had 1 or 2
Y’all making me wanna ditch plans just to see this earlier
I'll wait for the movie summary on YouTube
Why would u do that to yourself bud ?

Ain’t that sort of party champ
Felt like things with his wife was a lil weird in how muted she was to learning all that s\*\*\*. Ya whole family got bamboozled by a bunch of devious crackers and she just like 😐 the whole time

It was such a strange decision
I just don’t understand the film’s decision to depict Mollie as so naive
Her relationship with white people… her trust in her husband… Where is that coming from?
It feels like a smoldering fire that never catches flame
At the outset I said oh boy I can’t wait for the movie to serve us up a delicious part for Lily Gladstone and then it just… never gives it to her

i even think her stoic, detached disgust at everything happening was a cool angle, its just
i wasn't sure by the end what she knew and what she didn't. she was very quiet with Earnest. i wasn't sure if she was forgiving & understanding, angry and methodical or legit didn't know the full extent of what he was doing
i think that is such a magical performance and for it not to really swoop into a conclusion or any sort of thematic moment was odd
but then again thats kinda cool and bold. most other filmmakers would've put a bow on it. still figuring out how i feel about it i guess
