i feel bad for laughing
Scorsese used every scene perfectly in this man damn. After the 2 and a half hour mark you can feel the length but so many things happened so quickly it was never a dull moment.
It was kinda hard to understand them at times tho when they were mumbling.
Reading the book now then gonna do a proper rewatch.

Book is a little different pov wise
Slightly sizzling hot take:
The pacing in this film was atrocious. I felt the length of that opening hour, along with some spaces during the middle where not much is happening except the same story beats of murder this one and that one. I also didn't love how Mollie never felt like a major player in this. Sure, Marty is known for telling his stories from the pov of horrible people, but damn, this would've been so much more powerful if it was Mollie's story.
That said, that boy De Niro is goood. Quiet evil is terrifying. I also dug the movie a lot more when Jesse Plemmons came in (Brendan Fraser was miscast, wtf was that lmao#) and the ending was PERFECT. Seeing the Osage murders being sensationalized like that was sad, but !#Martin Scorsese himself making that brief cameo with the sad news was such a gut punch.
I still think that this was a great film and is in my top 10 of the year, but the pacing was awful, and I felt the runtime here, which was not the case with Oppenheimer. It's pretty interesting how that goes.
@proper
i dunno if i’m ever gonna watch this
idgaf about native american history or whatever this is about at all and this s*** 3.5 hours lol.

Agree tbh. He handled pacing way better in The Irishman
