KODAK SPICE'S TOP 10 ALBUMS OF 2024

10. Eminem - The Death of Slim Shady

I'm surprised Eminem made an album that isn't Revival tier in the year 2024. The clever use of AI to help resuscitate arguably the worst part of modern Eminem music, his voice is very clever and a great use of the technology. Not to mention he's flowing on beats unlike in recent efforts, fun songs I actually revisit like Antichrist. It's obviously not peak Eminem but it is so refreshing to hear a good Eminem album in 2024!

9. Dua Lipa - Radical Optimism

Coming off the massive success of 2020's Future Nostalgia, which is still a strong contender for album of the decade, Dua had all the pressure on her to follow it up. The album itself in my opinion is good. It has songs I love, such as Illusion, End of an Era, Whatcha Doin. But unfortunately, there are at least two skips on this album. Which as a result, makes this a decline from Future Nostalgia. I still enjoyed the era and the bops tho.

8. Future & Metro Boomin - WE STILL DON'T TRUST YOU

Future dropped three projects in 2024. So many bangers to go around. All My Life is my favorite song on here. Lil Baby snapped, Wheezy and Metro went ham on the beat. Song makes me want to move serious weight. Tons of catchy bangers to go around, tons of replayability. This album earned its spot because I kept revisiting it!

7. Ariana Grande - Eternal Sunshine

I think the Dua album had higher highs. So why does this rank higher? Well, it's simple. ES is more consistently good and works as an album better than RO does. Ariana is basically telling a cohesive story throughout the album in a beautiful way. Fun bouncy boppy singles with stellar album cuts, another great addition to Ariana's stacked discog!

6. Yeat - 2093

Sometimes you just need an album to turn off your brain and make the passage of time flow easier. Sometimes I just wanna play Forza or GTA and blast this transcendental production. My favorite track is Stand On It feat Future. I like the whole vibe of this album. His core fans seemed to have not, but i'm not really a big Yeat fan anyway. This album certainly clicked with me tho, and the first half of 2024 would not have been the same without it.

5. Tiacorine - ALMOST THERE

I love Tiacorine. Her delivery, energy creates a fun rap experience that I find very engaging. The aesthetics are so me. Bonnet is perfection. It's actually a very short EP, but it never slumps. I want more music from Tiacorine! She just keeps getting better.

4. Doja Cat - SCARLET 2 CLAUDE

I usually don't include a deluxe released the year after the original album on my lists. But Doja Cat isn't your usual artist. I probably played the new tracks on this deluxe more than every album above. Not a single miss, Doja continues to prove herself to be the queen of all genres. If you haven't listened to SCARLET, stop reading this and stop sleeping on her. I lowkey regret not making it #1 on my other list. Teezo Touchdown does stink up a song but the song would be a 10 otherwise lol

3. Doechii - Alligator Bites Never Heal

2024 was a great f***ing year for music. NISSAN ALTIMA, GTFO, DENIAL IS A RIVER are constantly in rotation for me. Verbatim aggressive rap-alongs. Doechii has been on the come up and she finally got out of her own head and created this masterpiece of a mixtape. The neurotic free flowing thoughts and bars is something that resonates with me deeply. Also repping for the FL jits! God I love Doechii. F***.

2. Future & Metro Boomin - WE DON'T TRUST YOU

We Don't Trust You at #2 type s***... A PERFECT ALBUM. Not a single skip. A solid 10/10. 3 out of my top 5 songs this year were from WDTY/WSDTY. Do I even need to mention Like That? Yeah... whole album slaps. Very easy to play and enjoy and vibe! Music is meant to be enjoyed and felt, and this album does it for me. Future has been relevant for over a decade consistently for a reason. He knows what he's doing. F*** the big 3.

1. Charli XCX - BRAT (all versions)

Fun Fact, back in 2019, Charli was my AOTY. Right behind it was thank u, next. I love Charli. CRASH was a bit of a let down, still being a good album. BRAT, tho? An entire moment. A movement. A pop culture revolution. None of that s*** alone is enough to sell me. Yeah it was greatly marketed. The music tho? F***. Whether it's the original release, the deluxe, the remix album, Charli kept us fans fed. When Carti didn't drop, Charli did. Four versions of 360 is genius. The collabs are iconic. Charli continues to showcase her incredible pen prowess and her knowledge and understanding of the game that she is in. I don't know if this is peak Charli, but enough time has passed for me to declare this instant classic masterpiece of an album her best work to date.
