If we have a need to innovate new political systems, but the lens through which innovataion is framed to serve the ideas you espouse is so narrow it actually stifles innovation, we could've had a coronavirus vaccine ages ago, but alas it was deemed unprofitable.

I can get with you on certain things needing to be state funded and controlled / non profit to an extent, especially in the areas of vaccine creation and other medical endeavors, but even then, that would depend on a smart government who is willing to spend money and time on those projects anyway, since, people who are working on something like a vaccine still need to get paid

really I think it boils down to there is no perfect answer and it’s likely impossible to have a perfect system

why do you have a right to property that the public owns?

You have a right to a home. If you live in a home, you own it. When you no longer live in it, the community owns it

It's an obvious choice, but it's not involuntary

    homelessness is an option

Homelessness is hardly an option since, getting work usually hinges on having a residence. And if you expand on that thought a bit, you'll understand why homelessness isn't really an option

Do away with government, universities can decide on what is innovated on, kind of like they already do now, you're making up problems that aren't really there to begin with.

Most jobs need you to have a bank account, to get a banl account you need to have a place of residence. Do you think homeless people simply choose not to work?

I often disagree with you, but this is something I fully agree with. All housing should be owned by the government.

At the very least, housing should not be allowed to be privately rented for profit. I have no idea why anyone would disagree. I assume the people who disagree with this are not in a position to understand the deep-rooted issues that come along with property ownership.

On the UK, we have a scheme where anyone can buy their public housing. This is a scheme that was brought in on the 70s and 80s. It meant people could buy their government housing for a massively discounted price. The government never replaced these houses that were bought. We now have an issue 40 years later where those former publicly owned houses are being used by private landlords to overcharge people on rent and refuse to house the most vulnerable. Private landlords will often refuse to house people on welfare because they do not trust them. This then leads to homelessness.

There are many reasons I can go into on why property ownership is wrong. I have never and will never agree with it. Housing should always be publicly owned and treated as a basic human right just as health care, water etc.

I’m surprised the UK doesn’t have rent controlled housing, the US has this in many areas. Apartment rent based on income

Bro stop putting words in my mouth lol

Your making the assumption that these people are getting paid from direct deposit or checks, some jobs people do get paid in cash. And for a bank account you can use a correspondence address.

Having a job does not hinge on having a residence.

There are other factors in play for why homeless people are homeless

    no government?

we most certainly need a government lol, i trust the people to run s*** just as much as I trust the government (so hardly at all), but at least the government is outnumbered by the people, so there is some room to drive change / reform if a big enough movement is formed

on top of the fact we need protection from foreign actors since, like it or not, we are one of the strongest nations in the world and people want us to crumble

who would handle the national security? professors?

    community enforcers?

    the people?

I’d much rather there be a military you chose to sign up for (outside of the draft) than the people being responsible to take on a potential foreign threat
