I think it might be tbh to talk about it on here because it never goes anywhere
You might be better working in publishing or talking some forum about political economies with people specialized in that field
The average person on here can't tell you how an economy runs, what free markets actually do, why the USSR specifically failed, diff. between communism vs socialism, and like so many other things
I'm pretty uneducated on socialism because I'm still pretty uneducated about capitalism. I'm not gonna follow/learn about the critical theory that socialism is without fully understanding the economics and history of the system it's criticizing.
those types of forums sound terrible. i care more about talking to "the average person" than i do talking to those types
This is almost as bad a take as the one about abolishing all prisons and rehabilitating the murderers and rapists
Would you rather rent from a private individual or the government?

What is the ethical defense for one person owning properties while others go homeless or pay so much of their hard earned money into rent
You communist broke bois come up with a better system that works and hasn’t historically led to oppression of people’s personal and economic freedoms and come back to me.
Fundamentals out
can you explain how landlords specifically provide people with property
There's no real solution to this. You're either going to pay a crazy high price or wait 50 years to get a place in the city. The real problem is that there is not enough housing to go around.
Bro stop putting words in my mouth lol
Your making the assumption that these people are getting paid from direct deposit or checks, some jobs people do get paid in cash. And for a bank account you can use a correspondence address.
Having a job does not hinge on having a residence.
There are other factors in play for why homeless people are homeless
I haven't put words in your mouth at all, I'm simply applying my logic to the real world through rhetorical device
can you explain how landlords specifically provide people with property
why are you asking me that?
why are you asking me that?
you said "they give people places to live"
I advocate against capitalism all the time. It's not a waste of my time to talk about the specific ills of it
You’re no offering any solutions not you are asking for them. What do you want?

Because everything that has been posted in this thread is pure garbage

to have a socialist society?

I mean I don't think the average person is gonna walk away with much from these type of discussions. Whatever is mentioned is gonna be digested wrong, they'll conflate concepts/ideas, or whatever.
Like you're well read on socialism and have had the arguments for it presented to you pretty competently. That was your exposure.
A forum discussion can't do that. The discussion move too fast, it's hard too empirically source claims, and everyone on here tries to argue too many things at once. It's hard to take anything away.
to have a socialist society?
Fine. But I come itt thinking there may be a way to abolish landlords under capitalism but I don’t learn anything about it. Then I wish this thread was about capitalism vs socialism instead.
OP sits in his own filth all day long and thinks about making drastic changes to society when he has never contributed to it once in his entire life

You know why he does this. We all know why. He claims everyone on here is ignorant and can't discuss anything. Then he will spend hours and hours in here telling people they are idiots without posting a valid argument.

He's been arguing for years though, I can't comprehend that he is trolling.
no government?
we most certainly need a government lol, i trust the people to run s*** just as much as I trust the government (so hardly at all), but at least the government is outnumbered by the people, so there is some room to drive change / reform if a big enough movement is formed
on top of the fact we need protection from foreign actors since, like it or not, we are one of the strongest nations in the world and people want us to crumble
who would handle the national security? professors?
community enforcers?
the people?
I’d much rather there be a military you chose to sign up for (outside of the draft) than the people being responsible to take on a potential foreign threat
How is there any room to drive change? The LA riots happened almost 30 years ago and policing hasn't really changed.

I mean culture changes. These riots have accomplished banning chokeholds nationally and defunding has started. NYC cutting their budget by $1B is a pretty big deal.
